I think JBS' schedule last year was a huge detriment to them and i think the district game with jackson City proved that. This year, I think it is obvious that their schedule is beefed up pretty well. They do have some of the traditional gimmes on there, but that isn't too bad. Most schools have games on their schedule that serve that purpose. With the Berea tournament, plus the fact that they are playing the top teams in the region such as PCC, Hazard and Letcher Central does show that their schedule is tougher. This team could very well be "for real". A 13 - 14 point loss to Henry Clay isn't too bad for a team from this area as i think anyone in the 14th would struggle to be competitive with the Blue Devils. I think everyone will know more after their Jan. 10 game at PCC as to where the Crusaders stack up in the region.

Sr. Guard Kevin Davidson from Buckhorn scored his 1,000th point in this game , also. I thought it was very classy of Coach Smith to allow a brief game stoppage to recognize this achievement.

Davidson is a very solid player. He has sound fundamentals and is an excellent athlete on top of that. He has been around a .400 hitter his entire high school career and from what I understand, performed well in the east-west game that he supposedly wasn't good enough to play in. There are several talented players in this region and who is better will definitely differ from person to person. However, to say that Davidson didn't deserve to be in the all-star game is taking it a bit too far. In my mind, he is as talented as most in the region. You can say what you want, his numbers at the end of this season will do his talking.
