  1. Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your basketball knowledge statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional Pick 'em gives you a chance to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Bluegrass, Louisville, and WKY. Each region will have five games to pick from each week. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the special Sweet 16 Contest for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. The overall state winner after the playoffs will get a grand prize custom made for you. The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games for Week 1 in the Eastern KY/Mountain Region are: Elliott County/Lawrence County Jenkins/Jackson City Morgan County/Estill County Greenup County/Russell Powell County/Magoffin County
  2. Not sure of the field conditions, but Garrard had already had one extra point kick blocked so that might have played into the decision making.
  3. Belfry strikes first at the 10:41 mark of the 2nd quarter on a run by Johnson. The kick was no good. Pirates 6 Bobcats 0
  4. They are scoreless in Jackson, Ky., after the first quarter.
  5. If anyone is interested, you can watch the game online thanks to the fine folks at WYMT in Hazard. Click here to view
  6. Just heard a score update, LexCath leads 7-0 on a touchdown pass. The play was from Bolin to Bush.
  7. For anyone that does want to listen in, go to http://www.hometownlive.net/ and scroll down the page until you see the Boyle County logo. Once you click the link, the broadcast will play in your computer's default media player.
  8. I'm about to start listening in on this game and will try to keep folks updated on it as best I can.
  9. Record for the week is ... 44 wins to 4 losses with 10 being within a 7-point margin. My apologies for just now posting this as I have been super busy this week preparing to come up to the Cincinnati-area to visit some friends. I wish I could go to the Highlands/CovCath game, but my buddy I'm staying with has to work tonight so I will be listening in on some games while playing Call of Duty...lol. Week #3 predictions will be posted momentarily.
  10. Disclaimer: Please remember that this is NOT an official BGP poll nor should these predictions be used for any type of gambling. This is just one person having WAY TOO MUCH free time and loving to crunch numbers. Also, please don’t think that this is exactly how I think the games will go. There are some games throughout the six classes that I think will go a different way than the HRS is predicting. Games in black mean correct winner chosen. Games in blue mean correct within 7 points. Games in red mean incorrect winner chosen. Class 1A - Region 1 Kentucky Country Day at Mayfield - MHS by 37.2 (MHS by 46) Russellville at Lou. 11. The feed has gone out on me once again...if someone wants to try on http://www.wrvk1460.com you are more than welcome to do so.
  12. Boyle's defense holds Rock on 4th down deep inside Rebels territory. Rock had the ball for over 6 minutes on the opening drive of the second half.
  13. My connection just went out when Rock was driving...will try to get it back on asap.
  14. Not saying it will, but if the game gets out of hand, I will be switching to another game. Hopefully the Rockets can get things back to how the first two drives were going but be able to pinch it in.
  15. At the half, its still Boyle County 13 Rockcastle County 0. Roc will receive the kickoff when the second half begins.
  16. Rock forces Boyle into a 4th and 13 deep inside Rock territory but Boyle can't convert. Not too much time left in the first half.
  17. Things have gone from bad to worse now. The snap on the punt goes over the punter's head and Boyle County recovers the ball at the Rock 29.
  18. And three plays later, Hester adds another 6 for the Rebels. The kick is no good. With 5:21 left in the 2nd quarter, Boyle now leads 13-0.
  19. Bradley fumbles the ball and Boyle recovers at the Rock 35.
  20. Devin Cox gets the Rebels on the board first with a 54-yard touchdown run. Rock missed a couple tackles on the play and the speedy Cox was gone. The extra point kick is good so with 7:40 to go in the 2nd quarter, Boyle leads 7-0.
  21. Boyle County stops Rock on 4th and 2 at the BC 32. Plays from scrimmage: Rock 28 Boyle 6
  22. At the end of the first quarter, the game is tied 0-0. Not sure of the number of offensive plays Rock has, but the Rock defense has held the Boyle offense to just 6 plays.
  23. Rock forces BC into another 3-and-out after the Rebels gain just a yard. The punt was a beauty for the Rebels as Rock takes over on their own 39. The punt covers about 58 yards.
  24. BB Bradley is stopped just short of the goal line on 4th down. BC will take over at their own 1 yard line. The drive took nearly 8 minutes off the clock so even though Rock didn't score, they're keeping the BC defense on the field longer thus keeping the BC offense off the field.
  25. Wow...on a 4th down play inside the BC 10, the center/QB exchange was mishandled but McPhetridge picks up the ball and converts a 1st down for the Rock! 1st & goal inside the 5 now.
