  1. I'm a longtime season ticket holder who nearly always disagrees with Mike Brown's decisions. On this issue, I like this decision. If Brown caves here, there will be a pattern of players playing the trade me or I'll retire card. We don't even know what he's been offered. If this was Chad making this comment, everyone would be coming down on the egotistical self-centered, diva, but somehow Carson gets a pass. Carson signed that huge contract, now needs to live up to his end of it, or RETIRE.

  2. It's my opinion that the owners "own" their businesses, and don't owe it to the players to open their books up. Can you imagine going into your boss, asking for a raise, and demanding him to show you his bank statement? Owners are the employers, players are the employees, period. IMO, the players need to be careful. The owners can withstand the hit in cashflow, most of the players can not.

  3. On occasion. I agree with his basic financial philosophy of eliminating all debt. The one thing I have heard him say that I didn't agree with was telling someone at the end of their mortgage to go ahead and pay it off. Once you get into the last part of your mortgage, that money is very cheap because you pay the interest up front. You could even put your money in a CD and come out ahead once you get to the last 1/4 or so of your mortgage. Another thing I am big on is 15 year mortgages. If there is any way you can swing a 15 year mortgage instead of a 30 year, do it. Huge interest savings.

I'm not a big fan of his, but have to say that what is bolded is not accurate. The interest you pay is calculated on the mortgage balance. Interest rates on CD's are not even close to mortgage rates. If your mortgage has a rate of 5%, show me a CD paying that rate. Most CD rates I see are 1.5% or less.

  5. Trust me, I have the best (& cheapest) place to park. At 7th and Elm there's a parking garage, cost is $10. It was $5 for several years, but they jumped it last season. I-75 to 5th street exit, go a couple blocks and turn left on Elm go two blocks, and garage is on your left. Don't bite at the lot on 6th & Elm, one more block cuts the price in half!

  6. Why was it bad coaching at the end? The plan for South Carolina was simple. They had 11 seconds and they were on the 20 yard line. Anything other than a shot at the end zone was pointless in that situation. I'm certain the plan after the timeout was to take that shot and then kick the FG if it didn't work. There was nothing wrong with the coaching, but it was a terrible decision by Garcia to throw that ball. He just dropped a couple of steps and flung it...I don't think he bothered to see what kind of coverage was down the field.

Great win for the Wildcats. South Carolina was the game I most wanted to win this season, so I'm happy.

I think it was definately very bad coaching, and arrogance. The time out was the worst, severely limiting what they could do in those 11 seconds. While throwing the ball deep there might get them a win, a sack, interception, or completion short of at TD loses it for them.

  7. I'll be heading down with my 2 sons and several buddies. We're staying in Tunica, which looks to be about 70 miles from Oxford. On another note, my daughter, a senior in high school, is probably going to go to school down there next year.

  8. Coffee, imo, is the best drink ever invented. I drink 3-4 cups, black, every morning. I'm not a big fan of the stronger blends that are out there, I'm a Folgers or Maxwell House man. I do love Kona, but it's hard to find in London, KY.

Anyone else out there have a Bunn coffeemaker? Once you've had one, you can't have any other kind. Coffee is ready in 45 seconds!

  9. I went all-in pre-flop on both hands. They were both at final tables, and neither of us were small stacked.

The stakes don't matter, it happens at all levels, because the ignorant sites like to reward crap players.

All in pre flop with A10 and a big stack is almost as bad as calling it with 6-7...
