  1. In typical fashion for me, I've said a lot here, so I'll admit my lack of comprehension to your response, and am open to how you might expand on it so that I can better understand your position.

Perhaps others here do understand where you're coming from, but unfortunately I do not.

At present I can only assume where you stand, and with that assumption I am not at all certain one way or another.

Not sure if you're in opposition to my view, or just echoing my description of society at large and it's history of and present display of shallowness.

If by chance you think that present day society including the media is a bit overly preoccupied with people's sexuality, I can't say that I disagree with you.

As much as I can't wait for that to dissipate, I understand it to be a obvious reaction to many years of oppression regarding the topic, and that it will take some time for it to settle into a non-topic category.

Society is seeing more and more gays finding their newfound freedom, and we're also seeing society at large learning to adapt to that, both acceptingly and not so acceptingly.

The media has been a player in all of this, sometimes helpful in displaying the gay topic in a not so taboo manor as it had far too long been viewed, and sometimes shamefully hurtful merely for their ratings by presenting it in overkill fashion.

If by chance you're not too keen with my observation and feel my position lends itself to part of the problem, I can only say that I might be coming from a different place than you which would explain why possibly we see it differently. If that's the case, that too is perfectly fine. We're all standing in different shoes so for everyone to see it exactly the same would be asking a bit much.

Again though, I'm not sure if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me as my perception of your thoughts are vague, and that's why I'm requesting of you to expand some regarding your last response.

Either way, you're most certainly entitled to your position, I'm personally just not too sure what exactly that it and was hoping from you an attempt at clarification.

Thank you in advance it by chance you happen to give clarification a whirl.

There is no need for clarification. All of the Bibles I have read speak of Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. There is nothing left to say from me or you.

  2. Jones is obviously signing Sam for the money and publicity. ESPN reported last night that Sam's Jersey was like the 6th or 7th best selling jersey this pre-season. Dallas is the only NFL team that gets 100% of all jersey money on the sell of their jerseys. Another financial move for Jerry instead of a team move.

  3. This is not directed to anyone here in particular, but just in general to the general public.

I share the same position as many straights that I wish to one day come to see that someone's sexuality is not made to be a newsworthy topic, but probably for different reasons.

The outcry that I tend to hear from those who seem sickened by the overexposure of gay topics in the news sounds to be predominantly from the same people who are sickened by gayness to begin with.

Others thankfully are over it (gay & straight) simply because they've come to find it a bit passe' and it's of no concern to them.

My desire to see it go away is because it would be a good sign that society has finally grown up and gotten the hell over it.

As much as I'd like to see that happen, I know that because of the nature of it all, the pendulum swing from years and years of closetness and discrimination to the massive outbreak of overexposure has not yet made its complete swing. I've faith that one day it will to some better degree, and finally the pendulum can find a more reasonable steady balance.

Those who have no idea what it's like to go through life always guarding your personal business because it's not always in line and in favor with the majority of those around you perhaps don't realize that for gays to ever get to a true place of contentment and freedom in life regarding a sexual persuasion that came naturally to them without a choice, there's going to be this bit of "in your face" explosion of a sort of celebration of freedom from having suffocated for so long all the while having to stomach the "in your face" hyper-heterosexual world in which they lived that always tried to make them feel like a misfit in society.

I've got nothing against heterosexuals for I can plainly see it as one natural facet of human existence just as homosexuality is, however less by percentage. I just think that many straights don't quite get how easy it's been for them to always be able to casually and freely speak of their own lives with regard to who their spouse is or perhaps what sexy celebrity is the object of their desires, or just about anything else. It's just so commonplace with straights to be so free about their lives that some can't quite understand what a drag it is for those who can't be so free so comfortably.

This present period of overexposure is undoubtedly a way for gays to one day be free about their lives as straights have always had the freedom to be about theirs, and ultimately also get to a place where no one really cares one way or another.

If you don't like this period of overexposure you ultimately can thank yourself for it, because there wouldn't presently be so much of it if you and your kind hadn't been so sickeningly shallow to begin with. You don't have to accept it and you don't ever have to accept gays, as that is your right, but you might wanna try getting used to it because it's not going away anytime soon.

Here's another thought for you. Every one of your favorite sports have had talented gay athletes over the years. Always have and always will. Perhaps even some of your sports heros over the years have quietly been gay. If you were to find that one of your favs were gay, can you understand that it doesn't make you gay for liking them, and can you be secure enough with yourself to continue to like them for what you always liked about them to begin with, or are you the shallow type that would destroy all your memorabilia related to them because now the thought of them makes you squeamish, and you fear what your friends might say if they see your collection of gay sports heros memorabilia on display in your man cave?

Your post exemplifies exactly what is wrong with today's society!

  4. I think it is a shame that all networks give him attention for what he does off the field in his personal life. Keep it to football and leave the rest of it alone. It's a shame that other players who have girlfriends and are better players can't get the coverage he does. Now, my punishment for saying that will be that Dallas signs him and he joins the "Jerry Circus"!

  5. It's pretty simple. If he didn't move or if he can't successfully prove he moved then he won't be eligible. As of now he isn't eligible. He's just a student at Scott County.

Pure speculation on your part on why he moved. If he moved.

Just pure coincidence I am sure that he and 2 other players on the same AAU team transferred to Scott County? If you believe that, I have some ocean front property in Kentucky I will sell you!

  6. Coach Hicks is a very good coach and could do plenty of things without tons of talent. He's won at places like Evarts and Corbin, and has proven time and time again that he can coach.

Being at Scott County doesn't hurt him, but if you look at his career as a whole, he's been a winner everywhere he's been.

If I am not mistaken, he had to vacate some of those wins at one of the schools for guess what?

  7. Not implying anything about Whitaker. Hicks was referring to the #1 team in each sport having a target on its back. Hicks seems to think Harrison County is a baseball powerhouse --like Trinity in football--and they are not.

Harrison is a baseball powerhouse, so what "Rock" have you been hiding under? LOL 4 State Championships in the past 21 years with an enrollment of maybe 900 students. And, they compete in a sport that doesn't break down their championships by class.

  8. This game was won in the top of the 6th when Bourbon County had their first 2 batters reach base and did not bunt their clean up hitter. He grounds into a force at third leaving runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Number 5 hitter then drives one deep to center advancing both runners with 2 outs. Number 6 hitter makes an out and all but ended the game. A critical spot that required bunting your clean up hitter! Just a little "small ball" and it could have produced a different outcome in my opinion.
