  1. Yeah and the game before that it could have been Boyd Varsity doing something like that because they wasnt tired at all, because they buried JC so fast they got some good rest...:thumb:

Nice how when you go thru some years of getting beat up, that you dont remember that, but you sure want to comment about beating everyone up now.....Just remember what it felt like and kinda lay off some of the cocky excitement. I dont think anyone thinks the score will be any different than you, even us diehard BC fans know it is probably a loss, but like I said just remember your down years.:thumb:

Oh I remember it well and I will never forget it. If you look at my first post on this subject I tried to take the high road and not show some"cocky excitement" but what did that get me? Tiny called me out and I answered. You can thank your pal tiny for my previous post. See you Friday.

  2. You still have not answer my question yet.Do you not have a answer?

Sorry, I had to go back at re read the thread to see what you were talking about. If this happened I didn't see it because I left mid way through the fourth to beat the traffic because the game was over at that point. If this did happen I guess you could blame it on emotion. It was a big win you know. Didn't Boyd just have one loss at the time and to come in to there house a beat them like they did was huge for the program. It must have been the freshman and JV who did this because the varsity would've been to exhausted to do this because they did so much running and scoring during the game. :D

  3. Yes you are,and should have went alot further, but did they, well?answer that.and for some one who is not from BC acts like they know alot.IMO i just dont like how they pick and choose when it comes to kids. And its only two of the coaches that do this. You should know what Im talking about. But this thread is about football so lets keep it that way!

Firebird when did you move to Boyd?

  4. Honestly Czar, how many people do you think will be there friday night? So the stadium hold 3500 people, if the stadium gets to crowded, people can always come stand around the track.

I don't know how many but I know there won't be an Apple Bowl crowd. In my opinion we may see around 5000+ for the Ashland game though. I just don't think you'll see that type of crowd for the Boyd game. Now if I'm wrong I'll be the first to tell you so.

  5. WYMT estimated the Apple Bowl crowd last year at 6000-7000, if I remember correctly. There was a lot of standing room only that game. You'd also have to believe the WYMT estimate, but I don't doubt that it was well over listed seating capacity for that game.

I believe this estimate because they were lined up around the track because this was the Apple Bowl and the crowd was huge. There wasn't a seat left until the middle of the third quarter if you no what I mean.;)

  6. First of all BC has won two games,Yea your right Should be a easy win for your Eagles, but I dont think you will be as full of yourself next year when you come to BC.And I know your not going to talk smack when when the Tomcats come to town.

We will never be "full of ourselves" when we play anybody. Do you remember what happened last year when we come to Boyd? If both teams play each other next year why wouldn't we be confident in coming to Cannonsburg next year? They will prepare the same way next year as they did last season and as they are for this weeks game.

  7. You are correct in every part except on the professional level. Three back set has not been used since the Lombardi era. The closest you will see to a three back set these days is when a team will bring a TE in motion behind the line of scrimage in short yardage situations. Other than that good post...

    :thumb:

It has been used recently on the professional level. Some teams run what I call an inverted bone last year in the NFL. I did some research on this and here is what I found.

Texans- In week 5 against the Titans the Texans faced second-and-9 from their own 27-yard line. For most teams, that’s a passing down, but new offensive coordinator Joe Pendry wanted to establish the run. So he sent his team to the line with three running backs on the field: Domanick Davis as the deep halfback, Moran Norris and Jonathan Wells as fullbacks. With David Carr under center, the quartet of backs aligned in a loose diamond shape.

The Titans defense read Norris’ block off right tackle and over-pursued. Jonathan Wells helped seal off the back side. Davis crashed through a hole between the center and right guard, gaining 44 yards before the Titans defense caught up to him.

Panthers- The Panthers are getting the most use out of the inverted wishbone. They used this formation at least five times last year against the Saints and several more times against the Patriots and Packers. The Panthers use it as a power running attack. Nick Goings, DeShaun Foster, or Stephen Davis takes a handoff and hammers the line behind fullbacks Brad Hoover and (tight end) Mike Seidman. The Panthers have also executed some play-action passes and some reverses from the inverted bone.

Browns- The Browns are also use the inverted bone, but they use it as more of a max-protect passing scheme. Trent Dilfer completed short hitch passes to Antonio Bryant and Andre Davis from the formation; tight end Steve Heiden, lined up at fullback, slipped into the flat and broke a long gain on a rollout pass.

No pro team is using the inverted bone the way most college teams do, as a goal line or short yardage formation. Most teams are using the formation on first-and-10 or second-and-long. Although it's not used as much on the professional level like it is in high school or college it's still used some.

  8. Ok, I have tried to not let some of these posts get to me, but I feel the need to add my opinion like everyone feels the need to add theirs. I have seen posts referring to how bad LC has been for the past 5 years. I think that the quote was "they have been just awful". Well in 2001, which was 5 years ago, I believe that we were undefeated. If that is "just awful, I'll take it. In the past 5 years, we have gone to the playoffs every year except for one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that last year was the first year JC won against LC. Now mind you, that is not a predictor of tomorrow's game and JC apparently has a good team this year as well (if not better), but let's give credit where credit is due.....Just because LC has not been as dominate the past year or so like they were in the 90's don't worry, we will be. To say that LC doesn't come to play or have no chance against a clearly superior team in many opinion, well is just not giving them or the tradition of LC Football any credit. Make no mistake, last year against JC was the worst game that our team played all year (IMO, one of the worst games ever in LC history), it was awful; The dawgs will come to play this year and please don't belittle the boys by saying that we are going to "take out" players....they don't deserve that.

To read the JC posts, LC's team is full un-skilled players and weak O-Lines and JC will just have their way. I guess there is no need for us to even show up. JC has a good team for a couple of years and now they are the football powerhouse that everyone should fear....pleeeease. I have not seen any posts eluding to any of JC's weakness or slaming any of the JC players, oh I'm sorry, I guess JC has none. My bad. Let the teams back it up on the field and may the best team win.

I can guarantee you the players and the coaching staff is not looking for Lawrence to lie down like some of the members say they will. I'm one Central fan that is looking for a war in Louisa tomorrow night. Heck, out all the ones that are predicting this massive blow out only a few of them is actually JC fans. I think I counted around six. Trust me on this one these six are just fans of the program and they don't have a clue about the amount of hard work that the Eagles have put in this week to prepare for the dawgs. There not players and there certainly not coaches. Let me ask you this if Johnson Central was looking for a blow out tomorrow night would they have been working there tail off to prepare for tomorrow night's game? No they wouldn't they know that they are in for a battle the entire game.

  9. A full house back field and the I-formation is a "fancy formation"?

When is the last time that you've seen Johnson Central run a straight I-formation under Jim Matney? Also JC run's most of there formations out of the wishbone and a I-wing formation. These formations are considered full house backfield formations because the have three backs and four if you're counting the QB. A full house backfield is not a fancy formation. It's a very common formation ran in high school, college, and it's even showing up more at the professional level. Johnson Central over the last two years and through four games this season under Jim Matney have averaged 37 points a game. Why would they go away from there bread & butter to a "fancy formation" now? To think that they might makes no sense to me.

  10. So if this is the case, why have the Tigers made it further than the Eagles in the post season each year. The past two post seasons have not been too bright for the Black and Gold.

In comparison, the Ville has gone to the playoffs in both years and in which went to the Regional Championship game in one year.

Now the Apple Bowls may have been different than the final season outcome, but its all about how you finish.

I am not hating on the Eagles. I am just saying to not throw all your punches after the fight is over.

Yes the Tigers did advance farther than the Eagles did last year. There's a HUGE difference when you open up against a 4-6 EVARTS team while JC had one of the toughest first round games in the state against 8-2 Madison Southern. How in the world can a team that has been destroyed 96-12 the last two years come on here and talk smack about the team that gave the beaten is beyond me. Your district and region outside of Pikeville and Somerset is a JOKE and some of you all talk like it's the NFC East.

  11. Other than the Fairview game, Loss 28-14, there hasn't been much to talk about so far. Wins over Allen Central and Jenkins aren't exactly topics of great substance.

What's the difference between last season and this season? Last year all we heard about was the high octane tiger offense going in to the Apple Bowl week against Fairview, Allen Central,Jenkins,P-burg,Betsy Layne and Phelps. It never stopped all you Big Blue tiger lovers last year from over hyping your team. What's the change RNC and other tiger fans from last year to this year?
