  1. A funny statement was made on the Russell Radio show. I'm not sure it was a classy thing to say, but nevertheless it was funny. The announcer asked the other announcer, how do you know it's late November? He said I don't know how? The first announcer said, "The Tomcats are playing basketball already and Russell is the only team left in the playoffs from the area." Funny, but not real classy. Should have been focusing on the great play of the Red Devils tonight instead of talking about Ashland getting beat. Good luck next week Red Devils. We're (area) all pulling for you. Ivan "the great" deserves a chance to get on the carpet.
  2. They've only had football for 5 or 6 years. How long has Beechwood had football? A win is a win. It makes it even better when that when comes against a great team like Beechwood. Let the LCA posters enjoy a monumental win in their program. All great programs have had these type of wins that literally take their program to "Powerhouse" status. LCA may have just had theirs.
  3. Sounds to me like the LCA posters can get on here and say all they want. They had to endure all the smack talk and everyone telling them it won't even be a game. Now, not only do they beat Beechwood, but they beat them pretty bad. Good Luck Eagles next week. Bring the region championship home to District 6.
  4. Yeah and one loss by Beechwood to a District 6 team and all of a sudden it's the worst game they've ever played. What a joke.
  5. Don't worry, I had him on my list already. Good luck to the cats vs. Rock Friday.
  6. Herman is Michigan's Defensive Coordinator. :thumb:

  8. Some to mention that stand out to me: 1. Woods, Morgan Co: simply awesome, what he has done. 2. McGlone, Russell: cupboard wasn't bare, but the wing-t keeps on going. 3. Hensley, Dunbar: completely turned the whole program around in 1 year. 4. Eckstein, Bellevue: took a team with 20+ players returning from the year before and stormed the hallways and got 50+ players out for 2005 and knocked off Beechwood, another awesome! 5. Downs, Bardstown: anybody looked at their defensive stats lately? Awesome! 6. Columbia, Clark Co: finally got it clicking in Winchester. 7. Rains, Lex. Christian: has a potential state finalist team in Lexington in only his 3rd year. 8. Harp, Danville: keeps winning, and winning, and winning......... 9. Pardue, Boyle Co: great program, adds another outstanding coach. 10. Sphire, Lex. Catholic: this team is for REAL..... Hope he finally gets his shot at the carpet. 11. Schlarman, Newport: great 1st year, with new program after leaving Campbell Co. 12. Buchanan, Mason Co: what a turn around, 1-9 in 2004, and now fighting for district runner-up in 2005. 13. Hart, Ashland: another big year for the Tomcats. Great Players Coach. 14. Schnieder, Newport Central Catholic: broke the state win record, what more can you say. 15. Last but not least, Haywood, Belfry: lose two great runningbacks and a fantastic O-line from the year before, and what does he do? Nothing except sitting 7-2 going into the final week and has another title contender down in Pond Creek. Apologize for any spelling errors of coaches names but I thought all of these guys deserved some special mention.
  9. Stadiums: Russell's Henry R Evans or Ashland's Putnam Field: Ashland, Clay Co., Letcher County Central, or Belfry.
