He becomes the 10th coach in 40 years:
1974-1978 Bill Ed Leedy (20-31 in 5 seasons)
1979-1982 Donald Wooldridge (38-9 in 4 seasons)
1983-1983 Steve Sullivan (5-6 in 1 season)
1984-1990 Larry Phillips (59-23 in 7 seasons)
1991-1996 Marty Jaggers (49-27 in 6 seasons)
1997-2001 Tim Estes (31-25 in 5 seasons)
2002-2003 Robbie Lucas (4-16 in 2 seasons)
2004-2007 Larry French (29-17 in 4 seasons)
2008-2013 Mike Settles (22-43 in 6 seasons)
1974-2013 Combined (257-197 in 40 seasons)
It's a non-starter or we'd be pushing it. Marty is a great solution but we've been told "it's not gonna happen."
It would certainly be fun and entertaining and Marty would win some games that he shouldn't while winning all that he should.
It was nothing against either Bobby or Travis but it was about going outside for a new hire. As time goes on, it is more likely that one of them will be the next head coach. I think either one will do a great job.
I was asked if I would support Lincoln alum Chris Cooper for head coach. I will support whoever is hired. I did reach out to Chris and asked him if he had applied. He did not. He is about to become a father for the second time and all of his efforts are going into that endeavor. He would certainly be a good head coach and is a faithful supporter of Lincoln football.
There is interest and there are a bunch of applications from what I've heard but I don't know any of that first hand. I also don't personally know if the rumored names are true so I don't repeat them.
I personally think anybody should be able to go to school wherever they want, so long as the receiving school wants them. I don't think Lincoln County's six straight losing seasons has anything to do with players going elsewhere.
Most people call it Kings Mountain Memorial but it was actually Waynesburg Memorial. Kings Mountain elementary was moved there after consolidation and it was knows as "Kings Mountain" after that.
