Completed and fully validated. I have it down to 100 hundred thousandths of a point on some team's OOWP (I.e. 0.00001). This will be cool to have for simulating potential playoff matchups or pondering what ifs (I.e. Ryle beating Highlands). The example of "If Ryle did beat Highlands": Highlands would be #10, not #8 in 4A. Ryle would be #6, not #10 in 6A. Frederick Douglass would be #13, not #9 in 6A. Covington Catholic would be #9, not #10 in 4A. Cooper RPI would drop 0.00799 and stay #13 in 5A. Everything is housed in my SQL server and can run the query in under 4 seconds. I haven't set indexes for those nerds critiquing my query writing. As I said earlier today, it was a cool exercise. Now we can mock RPI in 2026 Week 3 or 4 just for fun.

Ok, I've got it sorted. KHSAA doesn't apply the "Play Down" exemption on OWP and OOWP. Then they Group teams WP together for average as OWP vs taking average of all opponents WP. That's a difference in .00536 in one example. KHSAA also penalizes teams playing down more that twice against a team withdrawn from District Play. Phelps is weighted at 1.15 versus a team like Holmes who is still weighted as 4A. 1A weight is 1.323 for reference. Really weird exercise to figure out their complete logic and math.

I found the issue with the initial calculations. I didn't exclude the Opponent in the OWP and OOWP. That accounts for the +-.5 points in most rankings.

Not as close as I thought. The orders are similar on some, but numbers off.

I reverse engineered 2024 RPI ratings from KHSAA website and mocked up potential 2025 RPI ratings. Can't wait to see how close I get whenever KHSAA decides to honor their commitment of Week 5. Again, these are not official!

Jags started district play off great. O'Hara managed the game effectively and Maher ran through the defense to put the game out of reach. Conner fought hard, gained yards on good play calls. Good luck to the Cougars the rest of the season.
