My neighbors son two doors down starts for Dubois. His little brother passed away last year, and I got to know a few of those Dubois folks because we helped with the funeral etc. They are really fine folks. I live in the South end of Louisville and I have friends who`s kids played for Butler in the past. I had mixed emotions on the game but was pulling for Dubois. It was a great game! Both teams played so hard.

I was at the game, Dubois was down 21 at half. They tied it up late with like 20seconds to go. Dubois turned it over and refs missed a blatant Butler travel at mid court. The same player was fouled shortly after. He hit one of two foul shots and Dubois didn't have enough time to get a shot off. It was a one point Butler win. That score is incorrect.

Great write up as usual! who you play matters. Schedules can be padded to have a better record than the teams are. If you want to win 20 games and are a decent team you can schedule those wins. if you are scheduling to build toughness in youth and win for the future you schedule accordingly.

North controlled the game but was a 5 point game early in the 4th qtr. it was a competitive game. never in doubt who would win but was very competitive.

Colonels rebounded to beat the Tigers at the Joe B Hall and Denny Crum Classic 85-62. Let by Soph Kye Bowen's 38 pts , and Ty Bryant`s 17 pts.

Oldham led end of the first by one, and Trinity took it from there and dominated the game. Oldham was led by Ty Bryant 17 , and Matt Withrow 14. Oldham looked like a team led by freshman. Trinity D is very good though and once they get Jayden Johnson back in the groove will be a very nice team.

Impressive win for Ballard. They will be a tough out now since Cole is playing. Mason Grivna 20pts 18 boards and 8 blocks for a freshman.. wow! just wow!

I think Coach Roy does a phenomenal job at Seneca! His kids play very very hard. I know Darian Shy and that kid has alot speed and plays very hard. No shame in this loss.

It was. Grant deserved the game , but both teams played well enough to win.

Great write up! I was at the Grant vs Oldham game. Grant jumped out to a 14 point lead early and Oldham clawed back in it with defensive pressure and drives by Frosh Matt Withrop ( 21 pts 8 rebounds) , and 3`s by Freshman Ty Bryant ( 23 pts 6 rebounds) and soph Kye Bowman ( 20 points 4 assists) . Oldham took the lead by 3 in the third qtr. but Grant answered every time they needed to and showed great composure. They got 38 pts from number 11 who is a throw back player to the 80`s, just gritty hard nosed tough player with a one handed floater in the lane, almost a push shot but goes every time. He also shot it well from deep I believe hitting 6 3`s. He and number 5 handled Oldham's pressure and hit timely buckets and free throws down the stretch to pull away 84-77. The game was much closer than even the 7 pts show. Both teams played very hard with great class and sportsmanship which is always nice to see. Sr Pg Will Hinkle is still hampered by that ankle and just isn't getting around defenders hips like he usually does and getting no lift on his lay ups. No rest for the weary Trinity up next on Thursday for Oldham. Grant County is well coached and they play within themselves very well. They know who scores for them and they do a great job of getting the ball in those guys hands at the right time.

I actually thought Male was going to be down this year some.. boy was I wrong. Heyworth can really coach.

Freshman Ty Bryant had 22 pts 10 rebounds Freshman Matt Withrow 14 pts 6 rebounds and Sophomore Kye Bowan 15 pts 4 assists and Sr Will Hinkle 4 pts 7 assists led Oldham to the consolation championship against 8-4 Lex Tates Creek 63-54 of the Madison Central Holiday classic. Game started off as a track meet with both teams dropping threes and running and pressing. Looked like the game would go into the high 80`s in scoring for both teams. I think three games in three days took its toll and the game got sloppy in the 4th as both teams looked leg weary. Creek made a push down 16 to cut it to 7 late in the 4th but Oldham held them off. Nice signs of maturity by Oldham to withstand a veteran squad late in the game. Oldham is finally somewhat healthy for the first time all season we will see if they can build some continuity? Nice win for the Colonels.

Its gonna be a game by game situation with this young squad. Good thing Coach Renner doesn't have any hair left after coaching this team he wouldn't. They do have Knightlinger back to give them some size inside. He's not in playing shape yet but he will help them as he plays hard, and he's strong and physical. If Will Hinkle keeps this play up he really should get some All Region love as he has been fantastic. He's playing on a really bum ankle and playing through the pain.

Didn't get to watch. Ty Bryant led with 28 pts and Matt Withrop had 16 and 8 boards - led by two frosh. Jackson Sawyers off the bench helped with 10. I did watch yesterdays loss to Hamilton Ohio 58-49 loss - Will Hinkle bum ankle and all led with 21 points , Ty Bryant had 4 and was off the whole game but you had to credit some of that to Hamilton's defense.

I drove out and could not find a parking spot so went back home. sounds like I missed a good one.

I remember watching Rajon at Eastern when he was about a sophomore before he went to Oak Hill. I think he had something like 10 points , 20 assists and 12 rebounds. I had never seen a kid dominate a game without scoring a bunch like he did. I think it was against a very good PRP team, but that was a long time ago. It looks like Pierre is going to be very very special as well.

I just had lunch with a good friend who keeps his ear to the wall on alot of the Louisville stuff going on. Supposedly according to him Jayden is ending the semester where he is now, and then will be back in Louisville. We can only assume that Trinity will be the stopping point, BUT that is just a guess.. I don't know?

Will Hinkle is out, and he really makes them go. Jakobi (sr) quit and Brooks Knightlinger the other Sr is out with a high ankle sprain, and hasn't practiced in weeks. He should be back in the next few weeks, hopefully both in the next couple of weeks. Their top three scorers current are two frosh and a soph.

Souths best player is still very hampered by his ankle injury. Cal has quite abit of talent too now that all their football kids are back in the rotation.

Great write up .. Oldham has their point guard out with an ankle sprain.. injuries happen to every team but Oldham is sure dealing with it right now. Getting Brooks and Will back will make them a solid team. They can make up for the loss of Jakobi to some extent ( even though its a loss) but they need Will and Brooks back in the rotation to do so. But it will give some of the Jv guys some chances to earn time!!

Is Jake Deron's son or Alan`s son? Madison Central looks to be the real deal!

I know I watched them in a scrimmage and they had about three guys out hurt and or suspended. Their point guard can't recall his name but he transferred from Moore ( 2 yrs ago I think) is a game changer and he was out for a bit. Coach Duncan teams tend to start slowly, but he usually has them humming by end of season. The Chargers will be worth watching to see!

I first saw Jakobi as a Freshman at Desales. I thought he had tremendous potential . Ballard Freshman team had trouble guarding him. He also had a really good Jv game against Ballard. I know he has bounced around quite abit, and don't know the story. Seems to be a good kid. MOST people in life are role players, and there is nothing at all wrong with that. Be a great role player and a team player not just in basketball but in life and I think you set yourself up for a better life. I don't know his situation but perhaps he wanted more shots or more control ? I don't know? Its a loss to that young team no doubt and his athleticism will be missed especially with how they are trying to play this year. Hopefully they can get Brooks back soon to give them some size and rebounding inside.
