There were indeed believe it or not. Dixie was down 21-0 if I remember correctly. The game last night gave everyone whiplash, but it was definitely entertaining.

We all know right now that good coaches are getting harder and harder to find. The demands for the coach, football especially, continue to increase. The expectations in many places are either unrealistic or unclear. This seems to be the case with Scott. What coach in their right mind wants to come in to completely rebuild something that will take at least 5 seasons, when they are going through head coaches faster than anyone in the tristate? IMO, Scott is a place that nobody that is an established coach in any way will want to touch with a 10 foot pole. Something is definitely amiss, weather it's culture, bad judgement in hiring, divisive parents/community, lack of work ethic in the kids, poor accountability, or just plain bad luck. Whatever it is, something needs to change, and whoever gets the job needs to be given the reigns to do it the way they see best fit, and be given the grace of 5 seasons to try to right the ship.

Kind of defeats the purpose of an athletic director if they can't get rid of their own staff.

Let me know the stat padding that went on in the 54 point win, you know, multiple touchdowns less than the precious Tigers.

How many Head Coaches will this make that the AD at Scott has hired now? The question has to be asked, does he know what he wants or what he's looking for? And didn't he used to have that job?

Ohio certainly does have over 100 more teams in the playoffs. But well under 50% of Ohio teams make the playoffs. And I couldn't agree more about value being about winning or the score. Which is why currently there is little to no value in KY's playoff system. As I said, let everyone in, or make it a system actually based on merit. I don't care either way, but the current system is indeed broken.

I didn't say nobody else got value from the post season, I said the point is to find the best overall in each division. And the garbage teams, don't get any value, nor do the blue bloods that wipe the floor with them either. If there was value in getting your teeth smashed in for an 11th game, nobody would drop out. For what it's worth, I don't believe anyone opted out of Ohio's playoffs. Because it's not a watered down tournament where almost everyone gets in.

How can anyone see it as non-problematic that a single team, let alone multiple teams decide not to participate in the playoffs? That's a huge problem for everyone involved. It means the system is deeply flawed currently and entirely too watered down. What's the point of the regular season if there are so many districts where every team makes the tournament? The point of the playoffs is to find a state champion.... the best of each class. The 0, 1, 2, and 3 win teams have zero chance of becoming said state champion. State champion teams gain absolutely nothing by playing those teams, but they have a lot to lose. It helps nobody. This is indeed a mountain of a problem, not a molehill.

The problem is too many teams in the post season. The problem is 0 win teams in the playoffs. The problem is also 1, 2 and 3 win teams in the playoffs. If there wasn't a problem teams wouldn't be dropping out of the playoffs. If you want every team to make the post season like every other sport, then just do that. Football is supposed to be different and special. Right now, the regular season means jack squat of nothing for 90% of teams. Win a district game and you are in, unless you are in a 4 team district, then you don't have to win anything.

The 7-3 Collins Titans travel up from Shelbyville to Edgewood to take on the Colonels. I know nothing about Collins, except that they are 7-3 and finished 3rd in their district. Dixie is 4-6 and finished 2nd in their district. My assumption is that Collins' district is extremely competitive based off of thier record, meanwhile Dixie's is extremely weak. Who you all got? Collins fans, please chime in with info on the team. It is strange to me how KY sets up playoffs and that a 7 win team will have to travel to a 4 win team. But that's a different conversation.
