  1. When the Tomcats have multiple players hitting 3's from all directions it's fun to watch. If they have one of those nights it will be a good game, if not, it could be a long night for the Cats. They have proven they can find a way to win on "off-shooting" nights but that would be a tall task against Catholic. Both teams are well coached, highly disciplined, and very unselfish. Should make for a great night of basketball.
  2. Finally got a chance to watch the entire game on Mytowntv. My takeaways; Do I think that this team is the best team in the state? Honestly....no.....but.....just like in boxing a slugger always has a chance, this team will always have a "shooters" chance. They also have athletic ability and skills that are off the charts. They do lack in size relative to most other top teams in the state but they have been dealing with that for the last two years and have learned through experience and great coaching to deal with it. When the shots are falling it opens up drive lanes and allows this team to beat teams like Huntington Prep. On the other hand if they're not, on a given night they could lose to a lesser team. I know I'm stating the obvious that you have to make shots to win but this team has so many shooters that the nights where someone is not hitting will be few and far between. I like their chances and would love to see a relatively small school from the east bring home the title.
  3. Great game!! The effort from both teams was unbelievable. One of those games where you hate to see either team lose. Ashland is down double digits in the 4th and their point guard fouls out with a lot of time left. It's awful easy at that point, at least mentally, to justify losing. They kept their composure and focused on what they had to do to win. Shows a lot of maturity. If overcoming adversity means anything, and I believe it does, this team will be a tough out in Lexington.
