Titans have been over looked all year and like being the underdog. Don’t be surprised by a lopsided win in favor of the Titans. If they can’t prove themselves Friday they may never be taken for real in this district. Is there a tougher district in the state. If so which district?
2A D4 is pretty tough.

Or this game shows Knox Central was underrated.
Combination of both.

Comets should roll again. The most interesting aspect of this game might be Cline's stat line. He needs 320 yards to become West's all-time rushing leader. I don't think he gets it all against Valley, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he did.
I'm thinking the game will be well in hand before he gets near that number, though.
Cline is more than capable of running for 320+ if the rematch is anything like the first game this year. I don’t see him playing long enough to do it though. In the regular season matchup, Cline ran the ball 13 times for 164 yards and 4 scores in one half of play. I would expect another night like that in terms of attempts and yards.

I’ll take the visiting Lions by 6. They are better than their record shows.

Taylor County by 10.

Might as well play it at Kroger field because this is probably the state championship!
LCA - 35
Somerset- 28
I wouldn’t count the Beechwood Tigers out.

You are correct.
Obviously Murray and Somerset have legit chances to upset that plan in the West the most (OCath & Edmonson to a lesser level), but I would be very surprised if this is not your Eastern Regional Final pairings.
Agreed.

5. Somerset
4. South Warren
3. Manual
2. Raceland
1. Mayfield

Assuming all the higher ranked teams win this week, am I correct in having the understanding that the following games will be for region championships?
Metcalfe County @ LCA
Hancock County @Mayfield
Walton-Verona @West Carter
Breathitt County @Beechwood

Mayfield will make it 12 straight district titles. I would be surprised if this game is decided by single digits.

North Hardin wins.

Pretty strong words considering a likely matchup with Belfry comes in round 3.
Ashland will host the winner of Fleming County and Pendleton County in round 3.

I’d say this year you’d rather play mayfield than LCA.
I would agree with this statement.

West Carter (8-1) is coming off a 36-6 win over Prestonsburg and Shelby Valley (8-2) a 29-22 win over Martin County. These two teams met up in the regular season and West Carter handed Shelby Valley a 53-14 loss in Virgie. Predictions? I like the Comets to repeat as district champions and win by 4 scores.

This game didn’t get to be played in the regular season due to a covid cancellation. Breathitt County rolled Knott County Central in round 1 and Leslie County advanced via Middlesboro forfeit. Predictions? I’ll go Bobcats by 17.

Congratulations KC! Congratulations to Sloan on an incredible career. I think this game shows that Wayne County was overrated all season.

Congratulations Lions!

How many starters will Paintsville be missing?

I know the coach is messed up on 2A district 8 because Middlesboro is in district 7. Assuming they give Coach of the year to Daniel Barker, that district was picked perfectly.
