If Cal don’t win this game they will not win a state championship because there are several teams in 3A better than Mercer so my pick is Cal 35-14.

I think Metcalfe wins in another game decided by 7 or less points.

Corbin is just to young I think BG wins with a running clock.

I think Glasgow will hang with them for a half but I think in the second half South’s size and depth will cause them to pull away in the second half and win by a couple scores but South’s QB being out is kind of a wild card so we will see and Go Scotties.

Hart Co by two scores.

I think Highlands will give Boyle all they want with Boyle winning a close one.

Warren Central wins this week and breaks that awful streak.

Meade will not be able to beat Central Hardin or North Hardin playing like this and the game with Barren Co might even be tight.

That is my takeaway from Pikeville's resume. Look beyond this game. Close games versus Paintsville and Raceland. To this point Raceland does not look as strong as usual at 2-2 with a blowout loss to Russell and no above average wins. Before last night, I am sure Belfry fans would say they would beat Raceland similar to what Russell did. Pikeville only beats Raceland 12-6. Pikeville is clearly #1 in 1A and the still the favorite to win 1A. This game surely gets my attention as an indicator that Pikeville has learned from the last two weeks and is now trending up.

 

On the Belfry side, look at how the game played out. Belfry is surely saying they made way too many mistakes in a game they should have won by at least 2 touchdowns. I have no doubt Belfry would like to put on the pads and play Pikeville again tonight.

You may very well be right but it wouldn’t surprise me to see either one of these teams win the state championship in their respective classes.

This is about what I expected as Trigg has stepped up in competition from earlier games this season.

Good job Metcalfe they are as good as anyone in this district.

They also need to get healthy they start four receivers and three sat out with injuries last night now none of them appear to be very severe but the question is will they be back this week.

So in your opinion Pikeville is not as strong as they appear Belfry is just down a little.

I think offensively they can score against South but I’m a little worried defensively they sometimes fall asleep on defense and I know when you’re playing teams that you are a lot better than it’s hard to stay focused but against South that could be a problem.
