Beechwood has had 154 points scored on them in their first 4 games this season. That's more points than they allowed in either of their previous 15-game football seasons. On the flipside of that, Beechwood has hung 188 points on their opponents, and currently is sitting on a 4-0 record after playing a GCL football team, two 6A football teams, and one 5A team.

Cov Cath also has a 4-0 record heading into Week 5, with wins over a pair of 6A teams and a pair of 5A teams. The Colonels had action packed and closely contested games against Highlands in Week 2 and on Friday night against Dixie, and have outscored their opponents 153-79.

The Tigers have an extremely pass-heavy offense this year and have come up with some high-octane scores at the end of their games, with an average of 47 points per game. The Colonels, who also lean passing (although not quite so hard as Beechwood) average 38 points per game. With both teams having close contests against Dixie, and both offenses with similar results against Simon Kenton, what can we expect to see when Cov Cath rolls into Fort Mitchell on Friday?

Great write up! Not to nitpick but it is 123 points given up. Still not great…

I’d be shocked if this game is within 2 touchdowns. Beechwood goes down for the first time in 2023.

So did the priest recommend Holy Cross and St. Henry as an option too, or what?

Whew. This may not be the best place to come in here as this player’s mom. You are talking to a bunch of couch slobs (me included, can’t wait to be one this weekend 🫡).

That being said…coming on here and defending the move against a bunch randoms (see above) is a wild move.

Let’s dive into the actual situation at hand. @Blueboy11 I assume he has started school. How is the off-season going? Still looking to play QB?

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but is is actually realistic that the OC or DC will stay in place? I know both men are highly respected in the Beechwood program and community, however, let's say, for argument's sake, that Eviston is hired as the new HC. Is Eddie going to let Greg call the offense (I am acting under the impression that he called the offense under Coach Rash)? Is Greg going to be ok losing that responsibility? Same scenario if a defensive minded HC is hired. Again, I don't know, but jus throwing the idea out there.

The DC certainly won’t be staying in place since it was Rash himself..

  4. I feel as if Beechwood’s success over the last couple of years (vs Mayfield last year) is clouding some predictions here. I would be shocked if Beechwood won by multiple touchdowns. Joe Morris is as good as it gets, as is Noel Rash. Both teams will be well prepared. I think defense rules this game.

I need a couple more days to think on a winner but I’m thinking we get overtime. Hopefully a couple of them..😉
