  1. Not that it matters for this year but - Last year the JV game was a 6 point game late until NCC Coach received 2 technical fouls and an ejection. I believe the game ended with a CCH victory by 10-15 or so after that. I think this will be a good one to take in. Size for CCH may be too much for NCC to handle though. Breds' Howard and Iles have to be on their 'A' game tonight for NCC to win as I don't see Mullikin having much success inside.
  2. Cooper, CovCath, Highlands, Newport and Beechwood have all proven they can play at high level. Handful of other teams have showed some signs but are still developing and getting better - by tourney time who knows (Dixie, NCC, St Henry, Holy Cross etc)
  3. I have seen roughly half the 9th region teams this season and I have watched 9th region for better part of 20 years. This region is deeper and more competitive than recent years, which I think is great. Previous years had 2, maybe 3 teams with true shot to win region - you could argue 5-6 this year and we have long way to go.
  4. No matter the final this game was a 10 point game throughout - very entertaining. Newcath was one score away from making it very tight but Camels always got a stop and score at other end. Impressed with veterans Jolly and Wilson from CCHS and the young guys Mullikin and Howard from NCC.
  5. Young Breds hung tough in this one. Camels too physical and tough inside. Jolly was terrific for Camels. Howard, Mullikin and Jefferson played well for Breds. This one a 6 point lead mid 4th quarter. Good game for both schools.
  6. Yes. NCC starts Jefferson, Howard, Glaser, Iles and Mullikin. Jefferson does a nice job with this team and plays an important role handling the ball and defending any player on floor. Offensively though it runs through Howard and Mullikin with Iles spotting up.
  7. Interesting game on the hill tonight. Both teams dealing with short benches due to various reasons - illness, injury and even a departure from team. Breds dominated early with guard penetration then Rebels switched to zone and kept it close for a short bit before NCC pushed it as high as 29 point lead in 2nd half. Mullikin, Howard, Iles and Glaser all in double figures.
  8. This was an exciting game. Both teams displayed a lot of heart. Mullikin and Vieth were both very impressive and relentless. No one could handle Vieth in the paint. And Mullikin never stops working and finishes well. Eli Howard for NCC is an extremely quick guard and creates both for himself and his teammates. I have seen in him AAU multiple times and he is a handful. Ben Glaser had a huge 4th quarter to spark the Breds. Glaser and Howard both had huge FT to seal it - I believe they both went 4 of 4 in 4th Qtr / OT. Both teams are fun to watch.
