  1. Unless the team has already moved on to the offseason, which seems to happen quite a bit for playoff hopefuls that just miss, Ohio State will steamroll the Huskies. I'll go with 42-10.

I'm here, unless the Buckeyes allow their exclusion from the Playoff to hang over them and impact their play, I think they win handily.

In fact, if they use it as motivation and are single-minded in their desire to send a message, this could resemble an early season buy-game type of score.

  2. Obviously, Mayfield, who hasn't played a game yet, is a question mark. They get P.T. at home this week, so while that should be a test, that is a game they should win. They don't have a lot of "tests" on their schedule this year, so I think they're going to be a challenge all year to figure out where to place. Their game on the 11th at McCracken Co. should be a good early-season yardstick for the Cards.

  3. The best win Penn State has is a barn-burner over Appy State.

They've beat no one close to what can be considered a "good" team.

That is categorically untrue. Their best win would be Iowa, then Wisconsin, then hammering Pitt (early in the year) and Maryland (late in the year). Then the OT game against Appy St. from the opener.

Secondly, Penn State is very sound defensively (22nd in the country), which is of note when you consider between October 6th and November 10th UK scored: 14, 14, 15, 17, and 7.

UK could certainly win the game, and I think it is great for the state / region they get a New Year's Day game, but to act like they aren't a decided underdog in this game is crazy.

  4. It’s Tua and I doubt it ends up being close.

If you made me wager, I'd say both of those statements end up being inaccurate, especially the 2nd one. With the fewest votes ever received before the 1st weekend in December, even if Saturday evening didn't cost Tua the Heisman (and I think it did), it certainly closed the gap dramatically for Haskins, Murray...and a deserved 4th invitee in my opinion, Grier.

I think Murray wins one of the closest votes ever, with Haskins 2nd, and Tua 3rd.

  5. Corbin fighting Louisville Central, who could have seen that coming? I'm sure every Central player had seen "the video", and while one young man's comments don't speak for everyone, I also know from personal experience his "take" isn't necessarily an aberration at CHS.

As another poster alluded to in the thread, regardless of who instigated what in the ugly post-game scene, what we dont know is what was and wasn't said during the game.

Hate that such an important game would be marred so publicly with such an ugly scene in the (wholly unnecessary) handshake line.
