I have seen these guys play, and agree. Very young team. Only 2 seniors. Bessler and Vieth are Sophs. Glad Bessler is getting the recognition. Connor Shea has a Soph brother, Cory Shea. Also a player.
Did the other sophomore, Ravenscraft, play last night?
-
Is Connor Shea related to Brian Shea who played at NKU?
Hoops5 is correct, Connor is Brian (from NKU)'s nephew. He will grow at some point, one would think.

So they have the 10th streak of 25 or more games over the last 18 years -- very impressive. They likely get to 30 this weekend, but another undefeated season seems like a bridge too far, if I'm prognosticating. I'm sure they'd love to catch that Highlands streak of 37, since they are likely to never catch them in State Titles.

if you know anything about D.A. then you know that is his first priority.
I know next to nothing about DA, but I know he has had a marvelous career and he has locked up his college choice at the cream of the crop for most KY kids (UK), so I would assume getting to Rupp is his absolute top priority. Glad to hear I would have guessed correctly.

Right now CovCath is on a streak. String together a few more streaks and then you have a traditional powerhouse. Be a traditional powerhouse for a few years and you become a dynasty.
I think even the most passionate Highlands' fan would give CovCath the title "powerhouse" even before this "streak" happened. They had a bunch of titles before Eddie arrived in Park Hills. Now, he has raised the bar dramatically, and are now THE powerhouse, but it isn't like they are a johnny-come-lately program who has found lightning in a bottle.
The dynastic talk, to me, is fool-hardy.

I think Macke and Rusch would start for not all, but most of the teams in the 10th Region. They are good players.
Leaving Rusch out of this conversation, Macke wasn't going to start at Highlands, a fringe Top 10 team in the 9th. Yet, you believe he would start at "...most of the teams in the 10th Region..."? I'm going to politely beg to differ.

I'm not sure who is going to win the 2nd Flight award (golf joke, sorry), but the real hardware already has Wandale Robinson's name on it.

It's gonna be a banner year for Allen.
But will it be a "10th Region Banner" year for PC?
-
Did they announce how much money was raised for the Ludlow Assistant Principal's family last night?
-
That is an outstanding write up on both teams, thanks so much for taking the time to accumulate that information and write it up so well.
-
Should this tell me more about Gallatin Co. or a Holmes team that many are bullish on?
-
Weather and one-sided likely outcome had to have impacted the attendance in Park Hills tonight. I hope a ton of money gets raised for the Assistant Principal at Ludlow who lost his daughter -- so incredibly sad.

It is possible that Stewart has been doing interviews behind the scenes.
Interviewing other coaches while he has a sitting coach? Not only would that be a bad look, most other coaches would pass on that. Now, could he have been having if that, then this, conversations with agents and reps....I'm sure. However, that is a long way from looking a man in the eyes and hearing his plans.

Throw out the first pitch at an MLB game.

Once this thread is more developed and there are more than a few "opinion rankings", I'd love to hear from MooreMiller and others about David Johnson being at the top. I've long been a big fan, and heck, I have him 4th so it isn't like I think others are "way off", but I just don't see the explosiveness, nor have I seen the development / improvement, to justify him being #1. Now, the good news is, we will find out quickly as his supporting cast looks a lot more like everyone else's now given what the Rocks lost from last year's team, so we'll know a lot more about David's ability to take over. Like I said, I've long been a fan, but while I'm shocked to see him at #1, I'm really shocked to see an intentional wide gap between him and everyone else.

Hobbs is at Central Hardin.
Harlan is at Clinton County.

...and one year ago, well, 13 months ago, there were intelligent men debating on whether or not it was time to fire him. Heck, there was an article about the 5 reasons to fire Brian Kelly following the Miami loss last year. Now, a year later, we are trying to nudge him into the small room at the top of the coaching pyramid. What a difference a year makes!
Glad our society isn't the least bit reactionary. :idunno:

I’m guessing scholarship.
The News & Observer is calling him a walk-on.

I'm not a Todd Stewart fan, at all, and this rushed hire only adds to that. Not only was the choice somewhat surprising, the speed with which it was made underscores that a "thorough" search obviously wasn't done, and at most, you could have only spoken to a couple of candidates.
In no particular order, I would have liked Todd to at least meet with Kevin Wilson, Huge Freeze (I understand the escort calls look bad, but I still would have spoken to him), Butch Jones, Brian Brohm and Bo Pelini. I'm not sure any would have been interested, but I would have wanted to get under the hood a little on each, and in a couple of instances, I would have made them tell me no.
Head-scratching hire, in my opinion, but certainly hope it works out for WKU.

This update needs to be in its own Thread. Updates here are for NKMSAA teams only.
Also if you could provide more details of these teams and league info that would help also. Thanks
Umm....sorry. 8th grade is 8th grade, but all good.

First weekend of the CovCath 8th grade league is in the books:
Blessed Sacrament narrowly over IHM
St. Henry big over St. Agnes
St. Paul bigger over St. Joe's Crescent Springs
St. Pius had a bye.

It’s actually Noah “Johnson” who is Kam Butler’s little brother. He will be going against Hagan tomorrow morning. Noah’s mom’s maiden name is Jones... she was one of the best players on NDA’s last volleyball state championship team.
Thanks, my apologies for messing up the young man's last name. He is a very nice player.
-
Although still undersized, the Shea kid (who often plays with their 8th grade team) at IHM is a really nice player as well.

Is that an area where having Kaiser would have helped?
