  1. All Star performance does cross-fit and performance training for young adults and adults. I have 3 children, two college athletes and one still in high school who have participated. The training protects from injury as well as helps them gain strength, balance, and fitness. This class is specific for soccer athletes. Will include some foot skills as well as strength and conditioning work sports specific. They offer other classes specific to other sports as well. Their facebook page is a good source of information. https://www.facebook.com/Allstar2021
  2. All Star is doing a soccer specific training starting in Jan. https://fb.watch/hKABAXk91c/
  3. Kaia Griffin - Xavier University Keelee Griffin - Ferris State University
  4. Unbiased opinion is similar. We were there until half so Keelee could get her All state award. NDA controlled the game, had plenty of decent chances and a few good. South Oldham was physical and super direct with everything. We saw as many as 6 along their back line with one striker up top...
  5. This is the list we have for Region 9: Image-1.heic
  6. Sounds like the All State teams have come out for this year. Does anyone have the full list?
  7. The game should be fast paced, it will be interesting to see if Highlands can use their width, speed and back side runs against Bain and Spivey to create chances. NDA is skilled and keeps their shape well. I’d definitely say the best two teams in the region are playing for the title.
  8. Welp, good news Conner didn’t score. Bad news, Ryle scored for them. 1-0 Conner.
  9. Only because this got fun do I feel the need to chime in. There is a difference between trying to possess the ball and move it forward (and failing) and not playing offense. It goes to my earlier season question as to comparing Beechwood to Ryle. Not one Ryle goal has been from a centerback kicking it as far as they can to have someone go run and get it. (yes, i know because we score so few) As for the Ryle offense, well the Dixie game managed to take out our #2,3 and 4 scorers......(they will be on crutches until sometime in the spring) Regionals should be fantastic (please read the sarcasm), we will see how tonight goes.....
  10. Thank you. With it being senior night, they moved a couple of the girls up to play more attacking positions (Kaia and Poe) so it made for a different looking game. I think everyone but Keelee enjoyed it being a little more wide open than normal.
  11. Agreed, if I were the ref I’d probably have given Keelee a red. Sounds like the 40 yards from goal skewed his decision on the card. I would have also not played advantage, let Kaia score for Ryle then call it back for an infraction? We probably should’ve had a few more PKs (both teams). Lots of loose arms flying around hitting soccer balls and he only whistled one? Par for the high school soccer course to me.
  12. I'd say the environment was decent, not the US Youth or ECNL national finals with the sidelines packed but not your typical parents only club game. The crowd definitely skews younger and more fun. Fall team here is a mash of 8th grade through senior, so is it better? meh...just different. The chance of injury is always there. I am all for a trip to Louisville being my furthest game over a trip to Buffalo.
  13. I'll throw in that probably the best and most highly recruited female player in NKY over the last couple of years has chosen to kick for the HS football team over playing HS soccer.
  14. As a parent of girls who play both HS and Club,(and committed to play college) I would love some others view on how they treat HS soccer season. For mine, its fun...or they try to have fun Its close to home compared to our club travel Its with their friends, fellow students get to come watch, etc. With the Ryle girls team now having 5 (I believe) on crutches due to injury during our season that will not allow them to play club. Do other parents see HS as important? From some of the coaches demeanor during games...do they see what they are involved in as life changing?
  15. I'll take the Ryle v Cooper game. First half was back and forth. Cooper has some speed up top and they are good on the ball. One cross slid all the way through the box with a couple of swing and misses on it. Ryle had one off the post on a free kick and a couple other decent chances. Second half started all Cooper keeping it down on the Ryle end the majority. Didn't result in any "real" opportunities or Keelee being tested but they maintained the pressure with a few Ryle counters. About 15 minutes left, Kaia hit one from outside the box to score. After was kind of your typical frantic district minutes of back and forth. From the negative comments the Cooper Coach had for our girls, they thought we were the more physical team. For the parent who yelled "Kick her" when our keeper had the ball at her feet waiting for someone to give her a reason to pick it up, Wow, just Wow.... It works better when you pass the ball to your own team not the other's keeper, sorry the Ryle keeper has decent feet?
  16. I’ll give you my take. I’ll start with why I understand the Dixie conundrum. They have the talent/speed to be second/third best in NKY. Their physical play actually to me hinders that. First half was pretty much controlled by Dixie. Quite a few attacks making Keelee make some decent saves. Ryle hit the post off a free kick. Goal one - controversial because the Ryle head coach sees it out of bounds played up in the air and across set down and finished for the goal. AR conference with center for a minute - goal stands. He allowed a lot of contact making the game a bit ugly. Second half was back and forth - center ref tried to get the contact back under control with I believe 5 yellows on Dixie. Ryle committed maybe 4/5 fouls all game and receiving two yellows (same girl) so ended with 10. goal two - controversial- ball played through to forward , in the box center back comes over for the clear and gets the ball and the forwards ankle (she did not play again) center points for Dixie kick then AR conference leads to a PK. Following the tying goal, the game was just back and forth up in the air and not enjoyable unless you like chaos. Ryle hit what looked like the inside of the goal post on our side but treated as outside of the post. Interested to the see the video on that shot.
  17. District games have to have a winner - Ryle vs Conner for example.
  18. @Big Red OK, I tried my best to read this and understand the thought process behind it, but I can't. Saying Ryle and Beechwood are "the same". The same style? The same talent? or are we just going with the same results at the end of the game? Yes, I'm jaded but a team trying to pass the ball up the field and not getting there and a team who's defense has two plays (long forward or long out of bounds) are in no way the same for a lack of offense. I have yet to understand Kentucky High School soccer (4 years later), so just looking for some help.
  19. If the Conner tie vs St Henry was at St Henry, I can see it. As a Ryle Dad I would like to thank Boone County and our AD for making our home game on nice pretty new turf move to St Henry's not exactly (maintained at all?) to make sure football can use the stadium when they need it.
  20. Congrats. They definitely showed up ready to play last night.
  21. Is there a reason it wouldn't be the team in the district that has beaten all the others?
  22. NDA 5 - NCC 0 Turpin 1 - Ryle 0 Didn't see the first games score.
