I know he’s at STX and probably wouldn’t leave there but Kevin Wallace would be a perfect fit for Etown. That is the type of program he would thrive in. But I hope he stays at STX.
I'm curious...what makes you think that?

North Hardin defense dominates with the shutout.
Hopefully they can rematch with Trinity and slow them down better than they did last year.

Should be a good game!

I really hate it for the players, especially the seniors! I just can't imagine what that feeling would be like.
Not at all!

Isn’t this group of Holmes Sophomores the players that won back to back middle school championships? That squad was really good. Curious if they are contributing to this seasons wins. If Nevels keeps that core group together, the Dawgs may be great next year too.
It is that bunch. And on a team of 30-40 or so, I'd imagine the ones still there are contributing.

Will be interesting playoffs as to which of #2 through #5 meets Trinity in championship.
Absolutely

Many armchair quarterbacks seem to not understand that high school football teams will struggle without decent line play on both sides of the ball. It's that simple.

@theguru said it best a few weeks back when he said something along the lines of NKY football is better when Holmes is good.
I would agree with @theguru on that...happy for Coach Nevels, staff, and kids!

Pulling for Coach Gay, Coach Irby, and staff...hope they're successful! Encouraged to see Dunbar be competitive this season!

Prep,
They are competitive except at the top of 5A. Many in that boat!
Greenwood has some good players and I think they are well coached,
but in the fistic with BG and South Warren - that is tough sledding!
All truth right there...that is indeed a very tough district!

Revenge game for etown.

Hopes Greenwood can get back to being competitive soon!

I think he would, too, Oracle..

I find it interesting that BluegrassPreps has the same 8 teams that are in the top 8 of CalPreps.com, just in different orders.
BGP 9 and 10 is where it gets whacky. Oldham is 15th in Cal and Fern Creek is 16th.
So I think you could consider 9 Dixie Heights (3-3), 10 Ryle (3-3), 11 Dunbar (3-1), 12 Simon Kenton (3-3), 13 Henderson (3-1), 14 PRP (2-2).
Dixie Heights (2 in Beechwood and Simon Kenton) and Ryle (2 in Dixie Heights and Campbell County) both have better wins than Fern Creek's best/only win.
CalPreps says Dunbar's win over Henry Clay is comparable to Fern Creek beating Bullitt East, but CalPreps says Lexington Christian (Dunbar's loss) is better than Fern Creek's losses to Oldham and Ballard ... when Fern Creek scored a whopping 1 combined TD.
Fern Creek lost by 30 and went up?!
"Fern Creek lost by 30 and went up?!"
My point exactly.

They weren't competitive in 2 of those 3 losses losing by an average of 30 points a game.
Exactly! Lol

So if I’m reading this correctly, the 6A rankings hate Jefferson AND Northern Kentucky schools? If Lafayette is top five next week then I’ll know what’s up!
I said non Jefferson County schools get the shade, re-read the post.

Yes but Fern Creek is ranked and Barren County is not.
They haven't done anything to be ranked lol they're 1-3.

The language in the writing for #2 and #3 is interesting. It would appear that Male also struggled offensively in the first half, right? None Jefferson schools always get the shade.

Pikeville holding it down!!

People are forgetting, this was a 5 hour bus ride for the away team...and a non traditional style of offense to prepare for. To say that you wouldn't put them above male/manual/etc is laughable. Douglass has shown themselves to be who we thought they were. North's defense may be overall stronger than last year. The offense catching up will definitely be the factor in their testing of longevity in the post season this year.
-
The Desales/X margin was wider than this...NH playing surprisingly well enough to win against 2 top teams after not being competitive the previous season against them! Hat tip to the staff for doing what they've needed to do between them and now to make the team a formidable opponent!

Yes it will...North's offense hasn't been as potent as last year...that won't help, either. I think their defense might have gotten overall better, though.
