Haven't checked the schedules but do these teams play teams from 6th or 7th Region? Would love to see them play nearby so I can check them out.

It should be but offensive stats dominate these voting decisions. Unfortunately, too many pay no attention to defense, steals, deflections, rebounds, etc. and it is all about points scored. Same goes in other sports, like softball. All region teams are based merely upon HR's hit in some instances, and we had examples of kids committing 25 to 30 errors and getting all Region team just because they hit 4 or 5 HRs. Apparently playing good defense and not costing their teams wins as a result of not playing good defense didn't matter.

I thought that was the case even when offered as a Junior or Senior, right? Basically until you get the Financial Aid paperwork in February/March of your Senior year it really doesn't matter is what I thought. However, you hear about kids getting full ride offers as Freshmen and Sophomores. On top of the fact that such offers rarely happen, the situation can change as well.

Yeah, not sure how you are offered or commit in a binding way as a 8th grader or Freshmen but people seem to indicate that it happens.

Agreed that 6th region is a big head scratcher for the teams and players. 7th Region is about right on the teams until some teams ranked 4 to 8 prove otherwise. As far as players, there are some head scratchers as well as far as the rankings, people included and some who are not on the list. Generally much more fair and understandable than 6th region, which as someone said is just, WOW, okay!
