  1. I wish they would run upon some people trying to figure out a cure and cause of the zombie outbreak.

I would also like to see some type of military and type of actual government trying to get things back.

I really like the parts when they were in GA and the CDC and learning about the outbreak.

But who am I, Im just a ref, not a producer.

They kind of deliberately addressed it early on and got away from it, because Robert Kirkman has said the story isn't about finding a cure. I think the idea is that society has collapsed too far at this point for any semblance of the government/military that existed before to do anything. The fact that we watched the CDC explode in the first season was both literal and symbolic evidence of this collapse. The unraveling of Eugene's story added even more to this idea. Also, if you watch the sister series Fear the Walking Dead you get to see on screen how quickly government and military control unraveled during this thing. And in Fear there was a very quick, but important scene to TWD universe as a wholewhich revealed that the whole world is like this.

That being said it's entirely possible the story has gone that route in the comics (I'm not a comic reader) or will go that route at some point in the future.

  2. Though I'm a fan of most of them, Halloween will always be my favorite. I was probably a little too obsessed with Halloween when I was a kid/teenager. I think I dressed as Michael Myers like 5 different times. The theme song (although not really a song and more like 3 notes played over and over) was my ringtone for a solid two years in middle school.

  3. On subject...just heard " holding a grudge is a stone in your heart ! "

Ah someone else has been watching The Good Doctor I see. I thought that was a pretty good quote as well.

To answer the question though, I think it would depend on the situation and people involved but I've always gotten over things quickly so far. If it's a friend and a forgivable offense for which they apologize then I feel if I'm holding a grudge then I'm now the one in the wrong. They apologized and I should be man enough to accept it and move on. I could imagine scenarios where an apology isn't enough, but fortunately for me nothing like that has ever happened.

  4. I think these last two episodes would have been vastly improved if they had done just like a one minute rundown of what the plan was ahead of time for the audience. Without knowing what the end game of each little mission is (besides kill them all) it makes it hard to appreciate what's happening. For example, I had no idea why that one guy getting away from Ezekiel's group mattered in the slightest. He was going to tip off the next stop? Surely they had already been tipped off by any one of the other groups that were already under attack. Unless maybe that was happening in a slightly different timeline than the rest of them. I don't know.

  5. I understand your thinking, but what if instead of a camera on every corner they placed a human monitor or police officer? No one would really have an issue with that would they?

I'm not sure what liberty or freedom is lost if public places are monitored by cameras.

Hmm that is an interesting point, and one that I would have to think on for a little bit before forming an opinion. My initial gut response is that there is a difference, but I can't immediately formulate why.

  6. I've already read it :lol2:

I'm not talking about evasive surveillance, I'm talking about cameras on the streets and in public areas that are crime ridden or where heavy numbers of people congragate.

In my career I know that once my company got serious about having cameras it was a great resource. Kidnappings, thefts, civil suits and even murders have been solved or settled due to having cameras in place and available for review.

I understand your point, and I don't disagree on the facts necessarily. More surveillance would almost certainly decrease crime in that area, but I stand by my belief that it is a slippery slope that makes me personally feel uneasy. I don't know what you do for a living, but I assume it's a privately owned company and not a government agency and if that's the case I absolutely support the use of cameras by private businesses. Once the government gets involved though it's a whole new beast. To paraphrase and use for my own personal agenda an already frequently bastardized Ben Franklin quote, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither".

  7. May be part of an ongoing investigation or something to do with Homeland Security as they stated was a possible reason not to reveal the nature of the camera.

I think this is much to do about nothing...put cameras everywhere!!! If that's not realistic put them where the crime is or at areas heavily traveled by criminals. Then if something happens go back to the video and see who was there then.

Boy, do I have a book that you would absolutely love! That is a slippery slope right there.

  8. Saw a little bit of this story (the one in Michigan) on GMA in the break room at work this morning. Apparently all 5 boys have their own attorney. One of which made a comment of "this boy's life has been turned upside down." Really? A guy's dead and that's the line you give? :ohbrother:

Well I would think for 4 of those lawyers their case is pretty easy. There weren't 5 sets of hands on that rock. You get your client to testify against the one who threw it and plea this thing down to something that can salvage a relatively normal life for your client.

  9. So if there were multiple shooters, why would police help cover that up? No one can answer that question.

I don't know if that question was posed to me or just in general. If it was to me, I don't think there were multiple shooters. I think there were more people involved or an accomplice of some kind; someone who either assisted him or encouraged/supplied/funded him to do this.

I agree that the multiple shooter thing is nonsense because that would take eyewitness and video suppression of hundreds of civilians. It's just not feasible. I don't think this is a conspiracy. In general there are very few conspiracy theories that I think are even in the realm of reality, let alone likely. I don't think it's a conspiracy theory to believe there's more to the story than what we've been told so far.

  10. Correct. Jigsaw is dead. So is Amanda and Hoffman, his two apprentices.

Dr. Gordon is still alive but I don't think he will really be part of this story line.

My prediction is someone, or a group of people, inspired by his work and start "playing more games". Tobin Bell, the actor that played John Kramer aka Jigsaw is in this but I am thinking it will be more of a flashback thing. Maybe filling in more of the timeline of him becoming Jigsaw.

I don't believe the actors that played Hoffman, Amanda, or even Dr. Gordon are in this, unless its a secret.

Ah gotcha. That would make sense. Thanks

  11. The two names that instantly popped into my head were Wingo and Greeny.

As much as I'd like it to be Greeny to knock him off his holier than thou pedestal, it seems highly unlikely. He's too high profile to allow himself to be seen out at a strip club. My guess it's some executives, not on-air people.

  12. The walkers would be a little more scary if they could do a little more (kind of like the zombies in the remake of Dawn of the Dead)

They would, but having the zombies as the main threat can hold your attention for a 2 hour movie but probably not 10+ seasons of a television show. They had to figure out a way to make the zombies part of the periphery and not front and center every week.

  13. In all seriousness, does anyone know how much time is supposed to have passed since the start of the show?

The production is intentionally a little fuzzy on the timeline of things in order to avoid conflicts. I don't think they've ever given a firm answer on this, but Judith's age is the best estimator because Lori was pregnant within a few months of it starting. I think "a few years" is the closest thing to an answer I've ever read and that seems about right with Judith's growth both pre and post natal. Ignore the fact that Carl has aged 8 years. Not a whole lot they can do about that I guess.

  14. Why was the little girl walker able to pick up a teddy bear? That's strange behavior for a walker.

Different showrunner then than there is now. The original showrunner allowed the zombies to have a certain level of cognition that the subsequent seasons don't. They also climbed fences and used rocks to smash windows in the early seasons too.

  15. I don't think you understand how long an investigation like this takes, even if he is the lone shooter. It took days just to process evidence because there were so many victims. Imagine how many places they had to get video from, how much video they had to review, how many people they had to interview,....

They also have to start back tracking everything he's done and reviewing information from his computers, phones etc.

No chance it would be done by now even if he acted alone.

My suspicion that there's more people involved has nothing to do with the fact that the investigation is still ongoing. I agree that even if he did act alone it would absolutely take a long time to complete such a large investigation. To me its the fact that there is a lack of transparency in the investigation to the general public. If he truly acted alone there is no reason not to update the public on the case as they go. As I said before, it's not as if there's a trial they would be compromising by releasing information.

  16. What are they withholding?

Not to sound snarky, but if I knew what they were withholding it wouldn't be withheld haha. But some things that they certainly have are video footage for starters. It's Las Vegas, possibly the most surveilled city in country, and there hasn't been footage released of him in the days, hours, and minutes leading up to the shooting. Financials are another biggie that typically provide a lot of insight. Other than him being a high roller in the casino we've been told nothing of how he accumulated his wealth or how he spent his money. Clarity on the ever changing timeline of events that night, which surely was the first thing they worked out in the days immediately following. Some of the only substantive information that has been released was leaked pictures of the the shooter's suite which wasn't even supposed to be released.

  17. How do you know they're withholding information?

Because almost nothing has been revealed to the public. The only other alternative is that they have found nothing out in all this time, but with several law enforcement agencies all working on this including the FBI that seems very unlikely.

  18. It is certainly suspicious that three weeks later we still have hardly any more information. I do not believe there is some giant government conspiracy. I do however believe there is more to this story and perhaps more than just one person involved. Not a second a shooter, but an accomplice of some kind. If the alleged lone gunman who did this entirely on his own is dead then there is no reason to withhold all the information for so long from the public, because there is no impending trial that would be compromised.

  19. Matt Jones on KSR:

"I'm not worried about Coach Calipari. He's a smart guy, but he's not smarter than every journalist out there, the NCAA, and the FBI. Everybody wants to get Cal. He's like Clinton, no he's like Trump. Everyone wants to get him on something. Everyone wants to find something but maybe there's actually nothing for them to get".

"Everyone has been trying to get Calipari for 8 years and they have nothing".

"If Kentucky ever does get in trouble, it won't be because of World Wide Wes. I would be shocked. Do you not think if the NCAA could get us in trouble for WWW, we'd already be caught. Do you think he'd be sitting court side every game if Kentucky was worried about being caught. He's the most scrutinized person in college bball".

"Don't let other people convince you we are cheating. Don't have a guilty complex".

Which is either dead on or he's gonna look real dumb down the road lol.

I've seen this World Wide Wes guy mentioned several times. Pardon my ignorance, but who is he exactly? An agent or something?
