Ft Campbell had another good run from 1976 - 1980. 3 State Championships -2 in Single A, 1976,1978 and moved up and won 1979 in AA and were runner up in 1980. 78-79 split with Mayfield and Brentwood Academy. Marshall Patterson who was inducted this year into Hall of Fame did an exceptional job especially when you consider that from year to year he never knew who would be around with the players parents getting transferred out each year. I think we actually got more satisfaction beating Mayfield than we did winning State in 79

They announced it at a South Oldham basketball parents meeting that Joe was leaving South to take the job.

I first saw Drew in 8th grade. He has always had a strong arm and the work he has put in the last two years is definitely paying off. His footwork has improved a lot but can still get better. The 7 on 7 circuit will definitely help with his reads in the secondary and Coach Reed will work on his running game to round out his use in the SO offensive scheme. Ashkettle will be the anchor for his O-line and if they can get balance Drew should have a big year. IMO he still needs to get better depth on his roll outs and work to get his shoulders square to his target especially going left where he has a tendency to fade away. They will have to replace Star but if they can find a few taller wide outs (6'1" - 3") to go along with their quick slot receivers the passing game should be good. I did not get to watch this spring so I am looking forward to the late summer practices.
