Andrew Zaubi Class of 2018

Nice sophomore season. Has always been a play action/roll out QB who learned to effectively operate the triple option for South Oldham. Has some camp invites for the summer. Will be playing a regional schedule for Go Hard Elite 7v7 team along with several top kids in the Louisville area.

One has to wonder if he has had 2nd thoughts about leaving Trinity. With Harper out of the picture he would have had the inside track as the Rocks starter next season.

What is the situation with Lightfoot? From what I've seen, both are talented QB's. Both guys in the same class?

Best of luck to the former Shamrock in the off season, hitting the camp circuit and going into 7-on-7. Agree with All Tell, would have been interesting going into Junior season at Trinity with the potential to start 2 years for the Rocks (still would have been a tough competition with Blackburn).

I first saw Drew in 8th grade. He has always had a strong arm and the work he has put in the last two years is definitely paying off. His footwork has improved a lot but can still get better. The 7 on 7 circuit will definitely help with his reads in the secondary and Coach Reed will work on his running game to round out his use in the SO offensive scheme. Ashkettle will be the anchor for his O-line and if they can get balance Drew should have a big year. IMO he still needs to get better depth on his roll outs and work to get his shoulders square to his target especially going left where he has a tendency to fade away. They will have to replace Star but if they can find a few taller wide outs (6'1" - 3") to go along with their quick slot receivers the passing game should be good. I did not get to watch this spring so I am looking forward to the late summer practices.

Got to see a good part of the scrimmage. Always hard to tell some areas with the teams evenly split. Still missing a few playing baseball and running track. Talented sophomore RB Brandon Elsbury should return for training camp in July. Thought the talent level looked pretty good. Colton Bolden and Payden George ran very well. Zaubi had a couple TD passes to Keanan John and Derek Donnelly. Spent most of the time looking at the defensive side as South lost 7 starters to graduation. They have some big bodies for the line. Two LBs return and one DB. Will be interesting to see who steps up but have faith the coaches will solve that as there looked like some young talented athletes running around. Chanler Lightfoot saw a lot of time at safety and looked good.
