Carson Williams and Larry Bird

Thank you. One calls me a PR guy for Carson, the other says I'm making life rough on him. At least their inconsistencies make up for their lack of athletic backgrounds, HAHAHA. -

Your opinion. No better or worse than mine. -

Go back and evaluate whomever you evaluate and leave us alone in the 8th Region. -

HAHA! Steve Collier, my old buddy from UC. Gale Catlett would be proud to hear that name! -

And you're another one who probably has never seen him play, but you jump into a thread so you can be heard. But that's Okay. -

If you didn't play, you wouldn't understand. But I appreciate your honesty. You can not evaluate someone's work ethic, drive and determination to get better, and their willingness to be coached. Carson Williams is a rare player. Let's wait five years down the road and see how it plays out. -

Great. How many of these McDonald's All-Americans end up total flops every year? -

And how many points did Phillips, Lee, Robey, Williams, Aleksinas, Cowan, Claytor, Shidler, score in the NBA? I see Carson as a small forward. He could grow another inch or two. He's about 225 in weight right now, might top out at 6-8, 235 with proper weight training. -

His email said something about "lifeless and lonely" referring to some of the snarky keyboard weightlifters on here. But that is fine, all opinions are welcome. -

Yes, it did. He had no help at all. And he went on and played 8-9 years in the NBA and then was a movie star in some movie! -

Yeah, I got an email from someone who tells me some of these other posters only want to provoke with their snarky comments. Said to not pay attention to them. -
Owen County 65 North Oldham 48
OldhamOldie replied to OldhamOldie's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
And he had three North Oldham players draped all over him the entire game. If they had gone with a man defense, can you say 50+ points? -

Your comment is so over the top it's comical. Who in the heck is going to say that, the people here on BGP?!? Most of you appear to be 9th Region guys and gals commenting on this, so comment on your own players if you don't like seeing an 8th Region guy being promoted. -

So you are saying everyone should just be silent on any comparisons in life? Or in this case, two high school players, Larry Bird and Carson Williams? This whole topic is about high school Larry Bird, not the NBA version. Is it that hard to understand!?!? -

Jack Givens, Rick Robey, Mike Phillips, James Lee, Kyle Macy, Jay Shidler, Truman Clayton. Chuck Aleksina, Lavon Williams. All UK recruiting darlings. Freeman Williams. Nobody wanted him but Portland State. And five years later, Freeman was lighting up the Wildcats by playing 1 on 5. He had no help at all and scorched the eventual national champs for 42 points. Then he took off and played in the NBA, which most of those UK players never sniffed. -

I have not heard any Owen County people compare him either because most are too young to know who Larry Bird is! HAHAHA -

I'm actually a fan of the 8th Region and the Oldham County schools. I happened to have seen Carson enough to know his strengths as a player. I would venture to guess some of those ridiculing this thread subscribe to all the recruiting newsletters and never really see the players in person, they just go on what they have heard or read. But that's Okay. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. -

Carson's name was already well known by the people around Kentucky, he did not need a PR boost to get Mr. Basketball. I think he has earned it.
