JC for me fans kinda think they are FTH without any hardware. They have pretty much owned us lately and not a big fan of that either. Ashland with its long history and storied tradition have made a lot of friends and enemies through the years on both sides of the Ohio River. When my team plays anyone, I dislike the team we play that week but when the playoffs start I pull for them all even JC if Ashland is out.

Whether your reading the Saturday paper and see they got the L or your P.A. Guy at the game gives you the scores and them losing brings a smile to your face. Maybe their fans are arrogant and you hate their popcorn and Nachos. Maybe their stadium is subpar and their field looks like swamp land. Let's here it.

Make a good point. When they made the 10 yards in 4 plays to get a 1st doubt they envisioned how the forward pass would evolve. I personally would like to see them at least NFL wise go to 15 yards for a 1st. Also get rid of extra points and everyone must go for 2.

That's why they need to lengthen the 1st downs or subtract a down to get 10.

Theirs a 1 point rule not sure what rule. They do have kick offs starting the game and 2nd half. Know after they made a field goal other team took ball at 35.

I like those bigger end zones too but changing the size of the field ain't happening. Changing some rules can. Looks like they don't have kick offs either which I unfortunately think will be a rule change in our country sometime soon. Edmonton Eskomos home field is Commonwealth Stadium. Almost looks like Jets Packers are playing.

Back in the day I used to watch a lot of Canadian Football during the off season and have recently seen its back on ESPN. Watched some last night and tonight. What changes if any would you like to see the NFL, college and or High School make? I like the 3 downs for a first but maybe in the U.S. Keep the 4 downs but make it 15 yards for a 1st. Like Arena league football all offensive players minus the QB and the 7 on the line can get a running start for a snap. ( not sure if I like it or not but it's different) Not up to date on all of their rules but like some of them including if a punter kicks the ball out of bounds on a punt outside of the 20s it's a penalty. Notice on PATs they have to make a 32 yard field goal and not straight on but from either hash mark. Do not like the goal posts at the front of the end zone.

I'll take a 1 point overtime win but to beat them handly could catapult this team toward a GREAT season. Ashland notoriously a slow starting team needs to fix that too.

Ashland Top 10 for sure. Time for them to put up or shut up. To much talent to not play with the Big Dogs on our schedule. Ironton and JC are the 2 best teams on our schedule. Both teams destroyed us last year and neither is as good as FTH who we play very well against. If this team doesn't start the season off right and I know Raceland is a very very good team but Ashland needs to wax the Rams and make a statement.

Heard the same. Talked to one of the coaches yesterday, he said that if healthy their line will be as good as they have had in awhile.

Their is and will be no place better to watch a Football game then Putnam Stadium............ End of the discussion!!!!!

Agreed Ashland needs to get Baker and company the ball in space. He is a threat especially on screens and short outs to go the distance. He will run by and through a lot of tackles this year.

Hoping everyone on the schedule thinks the same thing.

Watched them practice today #s are down a little but expectations are higher. Everyone I talked to said they are expecting a great season.

Ashland can be a very dangerous team this year and a sort of sleeper type team. Coaching has got to get better ( to many chiefs not enough Indians) keep it simply on D and Offense. Play in the trenches has got to get a lot better. If those two things happen and this team builds off of last seasons play at FTH the sky is the limit.

Greenup-Russell week 1 will be a very interesting game. Would love to watch this game but Putnam Stadium- Raceland vs Ashland is the place to be that night.

Don't know how to post pictures on here but yes Baker is put together and has worked very hard in the weight room and the Y. He told me he is 15 pounds heavier then last year. Speed kills and he has plenty of that too. Baker is 5'8 200 or 205.

O'Byran is playing QB along with Roberts may or will split time. Long is gone but Brown should fill his void. OL hearing will be a huge strength for the CATS and can become one of their best. They are big and strong and should open up some holes for Baker and he is really worked hard in the weight room. Should have a great Senior season.
