You must be a mercer fan if you thought the officials were fine. The official didn't even see the play were Young Demolished Mercer's DE and he throws a flag for Personal Foul. That kid was just straight overpowered, Young did nothing to get a flag. That's football bad calls are apart of it. It just happened more on the Lafayette side.
The officials made some bad calls against Lafayette, but they did play horribly the first half. Mercer was small and no speed. It looked like JV vs Varsity out there. Willis was not hurt..he was taken out of the game. In no way did it ever look like Mercer was out playing Lafayette. My goodness the score was 53-13 and most of the 4th Lafayette had a Freshman in at QB. The second string defense was in for most of the second half. Not Lafayette's best effort they need to pick it up if they want to be competitive with Trinity. That will be a game to watch.
I had a question regarding eligibility as well. Can you move during season if your son has not played a varsity game and not sit out that season or the next?
Wood already has a D1 offer, I see him winning the QB battle for C/O 2017. The kid is a machine. He has a great work ethic, and a true leader for Lafayette. Wish him the best.
Parents are one of Mercer's biggest problem. We all want to see our kids play, but this is high school ball you put your best 11 on the field. Parents need realty checks, no your 5'10 200 lb OL will not be playing D1 football.
He's gotta be #1 in the state of KY for C/O 2017. He just picked up a Rivals Camp MVP and made All Rivals Camp 2nd team. There will be lots more offers to come.
Lafayette started several sophomores and a couple freshman last year. They were a young team. Looking forward to this season to see how they have grown. Do they have any incoming freshman that could play varsity? I know there feeder school, Jessie Clark won the city championship the past 2 years.
