  1. First of all, when I said no more Beechwood games, I was not talking about playing the game in the future.

I was talking about a coaching staff that blamed the kids for the lost to Highlands.

A staff that was pitting the offense against the defense, had a player tell me that it was like they wanted us to fight. Sitting players or calling them stupid for suggesting plays even thought they where told to so if they saw something.

There was a lot that happened that week that played into a team that was not ready to play, also losing your QB early didn't help.Yes Beechwood came to play and took it to CovCath and earn the win.

The team chemistry was disrupted by the coach staff, this was a close net team and they circled the wagon around each other.

I had a chance to talk to many player after the season and I was shocked to hear what was going on before and after that game.

I was disappointed when Coach Wirth left, but the more I talked to the kids and parents he maybe should have been fired after the Beechwood game or a least a couple of coaches.

That why I said in other post the attitude is 180 deg from last year.

This is my point. The entire philosophy was asinine. Couple that with a poor coaching ability and you have chaos.

  2. People's dedication tends to be maximized when there is some semblance of hope. The coaching staff could not muster it. The players quickly followed suit. It then permeated to the fan base. The Cov Cath cheering section leaving early against a rival is a reflection of the year at large. I bet it won't be happening this year. I know they don't leave early during a close basketball game.

  3. The actual "quiting" does fall 100% on the individual players that said it. The culture in which the kids felt the need to "quit" should be 100% blamed upon the loosely described "coaching staff." If I played for a bunch of know nothing's...I might contemplate my dedication as well. I'm pretty sure the "quiting" had nothing to do with playing/losing to beechwood. Sorry but it didn't!

  4. I did get it right! I had a hard time keeping up with the vagueness....

My bad. I thought when I said, "damn you are good" established that you hit the nail on the head. My bad. I was just fooling around with the vagueness. I was really surprised when you answered it correctly. Sorry. It was all in good fun.

  5. If Colonels_Wear_Blue didn't have such a high vertical leap when he snapped the pic, we could've been able to see them!

Hahaha. Now I know colonels-wear-blue and I'm no trying to besmirch him at all....but he was extremely "generous" when he said he has a 3" vertical. Just kidding buddy.

  6. I can't tell from the pic but I am guessing there are "shadow" lines going through the logo. Also, I am guessing that the yard marker lines do not connect to the sidelines, should be a 4" gap, so the official can clearly see the out of bounds line. I cant imagine those would be done incorrectly.

    Damn you are good.
