Listen, Im as Elliott as it gets.. trust me.....Coach Adkins is an awesome coach. I never played for Coach Mays, nor have I had any family member play for him. However, as an ECHS alumni as well as another somewhat big role in ECHS, I will say that Coach Mays does not hold a candle to Coach Adkins. Coach Adkins is the most humble, good natured man you will ever meet. It took Coach Mays almost 30 years to win a region championship, or even a district championship. It has taken Coach Adkins five years. Nothing against Coach Mays, but we will take our Coach any day of the week over any in the state. We at ECHS are all so proud of what he has done with our boys. And thanks Professer for your congratulations to us and our coach. Means a lot!!!!

Yes it's a great debate. Myself, I choose talent over coaching any day. However I do think when someone else is at the helm from what a team is used to, it brings about a different dynamic from the team. Motivation, consistency, having that one person you depend on every game for an answer in the heat if the game means a lot. In no way whatsoever am I saying that Coach Adkins absence was the reason Elliott lost; Wolf played a great game and Coach Creach was on top of every play. I'm just saying in general having someone different on the bench can play games with a persons mind and emotions. -

Shoelaces, Thanks for clarifying that for me. Wasn't sure how it worked. -

I'm not 100% sure but I do know that Elliott was supposed to play Morgan one more time but it was canceled due to snow. So, they counted one of the other three times they played as the second seeded game between the two and chose not to make the the other up. I don't know if this something that both teams have to agree to or if it's allowed on special conditions such as weather. Maybe someone here with more knowledge can help us out. -

The tournament is at West Carter this year. -

West and Morgan play one more time but besides that the seed games should be over. It will be a very hard fought district tournament. Even though West is 0-7 they have taken East down to the wire once and Elliott twice losing by five or less in each game. -

The 62 looks like this Elliott 8-0 East Carter 3-3 Morgan 2-4 West Carter 0-7 -

I'm surprised at this one. Boyd is a really good team. Boyd beat us (Elliott County) by 12; we beat East Carter by 12 and then East beats Boyd by 11! It's going to be an enjoyable and unpredictable 16th region tournament this year! -

Yes everything is well for Coach Adkins. Yeah Elliott just seemed gassed tonight and often stood around with the ball like they wernt sure what to do. And your right our shooters just couldn't get rolling. I owe that to the great defense I thought Wolf played. They didn't give our boys any easy shots. -

Elliott played without it's head coach tonight who had a family emergency. Boys just didn't seem to have the energy they usually do. Hats off to Wolf County. They really slowed Elliott down and played great defense. They played their hearts out and though I'm an Elliott fan it was uplifting seeing Wolfs bench cheer after very basket. -

Buying or selling on Gonzaga being a real threat to Kentucky
ECMason replied to twenty4seven's topic in College Basketball
Its seems like Gonzaga is always a bit overrated. I haven't watched them play much this year but they seem soft. Again I may be wrong but I don't think they could handle Kentucky's length and strength.
