  1. Good chance I make it to this game. And I expect it to be a good one. We are off and have been wanting to take the boy to a game at Augusta. I haven't been there since 1982.

Nothing much has changed. Same gym, same fans, same bookkeeper. I'll take Augusta by 5.

I'll be in Brooksville watching their game and then go to the other side and hope to catch the 4Q.

  2. Let's be honest here, this is pretty much the last year Augusta will be good for quite a while, (or from what I've heard that's how it's going to be). So it's not just that big ole Mason Co is too fancy to play at little ole Augusta. It would just be a game they didn't really get much out of as it would be if they went to St. Pat.
Let's be honest, they played Western Brown, when they could've gone downtown and got the same thing; did they get much out of that game? I don't think playing 2 games out of the 30 against lesser competition would be devastating to their season.
  3. That depends on the district when it comes to figuring out the number of times a team has to play their opponent. I doubt that St Pat or Augusta would want to play Mason at Mason every year.
Theu wouldn't have to play at Mason County every year. They would alternate. And I'm sure everyone except Royal fans would want to see Mason @ Augusta.
  4. I can see why they wouldn't want to play St. Pat twice a year and looking forward Augusta will be right there with them I believe. So there's 4 games that could be played against better competition.

As for them changing their minds, I don't see it happening. Not anytime soon.

I wish people would understand you only have to play a team ONCE in your district.

  5. The 38th will never have a seeding nor will the 39th. Robertson and Nicholas would never vote for it because there are years where they do draw each other and St. Pat would normally be the 4 seed so they wouldn't be for it either.

Live and die by the draw.

Mason County won't seed because they will normally be number 1 and are usually the best team in the district. And don't want to play St. Pat. But I say they'll change their mind soon.

  6. I've said all year the Igloo is a tough place to win. Played Augusta, Mason, Scott down to the wire and beat Brossart.

Hamilton and Lippert are both questionable for Monday. Let's hope Bracken can continue their good free throw shooting and rebounding to Pendleton. That being said I'll take Bracken 77-74. Crawford will score his 30+ and hopefully Jones keeps his play going with 15 and 15. I think BC will do a good job containing Allen, you've just got to be physical with him.

  7. The refs were crazy in this game. For both sides but some of the calls were terrible for Bracken and I'm not just being a homer. Called the ball out when goal was shaking and the ref saw the wire shaking even though it never touched it.

However if Bracken could find a way to make free throws refs wouldn't matter. If they make at least 80% of their free throws they would have beat Augusta, Mason, and Scott.

  8. What was wrong with it before?

I think that they are trying to say it's better than what is has been. Chad Persinger took a bad program and brought it up to an average program, and as far as he could take it and I don't think he gets enough credit for that. So they hired Miles who thought would get us over the hump and make us better than average but turned disastrous.

Now Polar Bear fans finally have a coach who will be here for a long time and keep us competing for championships. This is the best shape the program has been since 1998-99 when we won All A and District. Most parents are happy to have someone who is completely dedicated and is bringing winning back to the Bracken County basketball culture. What would people not be happy about?

The worst thing a parent can do is be too involved with coaches.

  9. I have a feeling Scott is thinking of Campbell tomorrow and not completely focused for the Polar Bears IMHO. Do you think Scott practiced for Campbell County Thursday or Bracken? Figuring the CC game is a seeding game and a lot bigger than tonight's game.

I'll take Bracken by 6. The Igloo is tough place to come and win unprepared. Ohmer and Crawford will cancel each other out and it's all up to who can step after that. And Jacob Hamilton and Jared Lippert will be the ones to do that, they've been playing at their best these past few games.

  10. the one thing that bothered me was with 1:30 left to go in the game, BW was down by 15 and pulled all their starters and BC continued played all their starters the whole game. I feel that when the losing team pulled there starters and the home team also follows with their. why wouldn't you give some of your young players time to play.

I see what you are saying, but as a coach look at the schedule coming up. Scott Friday, Pendleton Monday, I would want them playing every minute they can. And if Beechwood is down by 15 I see no reason for them to take the starters out. There are plenty of other games where 'JV' players can get varsity experience.
