  1. Ludlow as now won 3X as many games as last season. It has been a great turnaround season for them.
  2. And LaSalle players. Coaches are from LaSalle and Summit Country Day.
  3. From Cincinnati.com Sophomore pitcher Evan Slone led Ludlow at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, while also improving to 4-1 on the mound. Senior third baseman Jerad Howard went 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Panthers. Senior first baseman Brian Brownfield was 2-for-4 with four RBI ________________________________________ Ludlow subbed very early and gave up their at bat in the 5th inning. Slone pitched 3 shut out innings and was followed by a JV pitcher. Weather permitting they play a double header against Holmes and Nicholas County tomorrow. I give props to the Dayton players, coaches and their families. I can tell this has been a tough year for them. As a Ludlow parent, we have many of those years as well, in multiple sports. It's tiring mentally and physically. Dayton had 9 players and a couple of coaches who played and coached until the end of the game, my hat off to them.
  4. The first pitching change was in the first or second inning. There was definitely frustration on their end as they had a hard time getting the ball back to the pitcher a few times (overthrow from catcher, overthrow from first basemen, etc). Villa did hit the ball, but Ludlow made their plays. Ludlow subbed early, quit stealing and advancing bases. The boys from Ludlow have been on the receiving end of many of these games the past few seasons, they have definitely "been there, done that".
  5. I'll speak for our Ludlow baseball parents , we are thrilled with what Coach Gray has done with our program. There are some talented kids at Ludlow. The pitcher for Ludlow last night (Slone), is a 15 year old sophomore. He threw a heck of a game, held Dixie to 0 runs through 6 innings. Walked the first batter in the 7th inning, the batter stole to second, next batter hit a base hit which scored the tieing run. He was pulled after that. He probably threw 80+ pitches. I will say, when he was pulled, many of the Dixie parents stood up and clapped for him. I hope that made him feel better, because the look on his face was total dejection. The Scott game the night before was 1-1 going into the 6th inning. These boys are getting parts of the puzzle right. They just need to put it all together.
  6. Love it! Geoff will be missed next year at Ludlow.
  7. Should be a good game. Both teams are having good seasons, although the Bellevue players have a few seasons of better coaching under their belts than the Ludlow boys. Ludlow played Cooper tough on Saturday, lost 7-4. They had one bad inning where three unearned runs scored off some errors. Once they put it all together, they will definitely turn some heads. As a Ludlow parent, we are very pleased with what Coach Gray has done with our program this year.
