  1. Varsity playing time does not count until freshman year. I believe Ryle is also getting 2020 Adrianna Lovell from Ludlow (she played quite a bit of varsity as an 8th grader and played summer ball with the Panthers). She's a very good point guard. It is my understanding that she will have a change of address.

  2. I believe that State St has really good shopping. Go to the old Trading Market (where slaves were once bought and sold), it is a flea market now with some really nice stalls where they sell hand crafted items. Walk about the Battery and through the streets and just enjoy the beautiful homes. You can visit Ft. Sumter--it is worth it for the boat ride through Charleston Harbor. I agree with Patriots Point. You can tour the Yorktown and other military watercraft. There is a nice pier near the South Carolina aquarium, you can walk out on the pier, I remember there being porch type swings you can sit on. There are plenty of carriage rides to be had :-), the College of Charleston is gorgeous and definitely worth a walk through. I love Charleston :-)

  3. I was not at this game, but just sat through a similar game with my daughter's team. I thought her coach handled it well.....the umpire opened up the strike zone. The girls swung and made contact. They also quit running. Went to t-ball running rules, one base per hit, no stealing and runners only advanced one base. Once you hit the run rule--step off and end the game.

  4. Very nice win by Ludlow the other night. Bellevue returned the favor and beat Ludlow 4 to 1 today. These are two evenly matched teams as Bellevue only scored 1 earned run today in the win. I look for both teams to make some noise in the district tournaments this year.

TC Eades and Briley Seiter pitched fantastic games today. Panthers need to shore up their defense.

  5. When is everybody's first game ? Boone has one scheduled this Saturday and I thought I seen a team ( Ryle ? ) with a game scheduled on Wed. Wed might be good, but the rain moves in Thur and Fri.

Ludlow has a scrimmage vs Holmes tomorrow at Meinken. Looking forward to seeing the new field!

  6. Two really nice guards on the RA 7th team.

I've seen those guards three times when they played up on the 8th grade team. Nice for 7th grade guards, struggled against Ludlow's 8th grade team, I don't think RA was within 20 pts any game. But definitely good 7th grade players.

Abby Mahan for Ludlow was probably one of the best guards in the small school 8th grade division. She had a great season. Definitely expecting big things from her these next few years.

  7. ^^^ forgot to mention... Dayton actually had a girl foul out with over 5 minutes to go in their game... Finished it with 4 players.

Dayton had a convincing 10pt+ win over Bracken. Like Ludlow they only had 5 players dress. Bracken lost their best player to what looked like a knee injury early in the 1st quarter. In the second quarter, their point guard picked up her second foul. While complaining about the 2nd foul call, she quickly picked up her third on a technical. That lead to the Bracken coach picking up two technical fouls and having to leave the game. Bracken never uprighted the ship after that. Dayton had one player in foul trouble. They played almost the whole 4th qtr with 4 girls.

Ludlow and Dayton will play for the 8th grade small school championship Saturday. It should be a good game!

  8. Congrats to Coach Wofford, the assistant coaches and most importantly all the players during this great three year run. That is a great accomplishment going undefeated in conference for three straight years, especially when opposing teams and coaches know each other so well. So this is a great accomplishment and something to be proud of.

I wonder if Ludlow will consider moving up in a conference like Beechwood did? Ludlow over the last 15 years has won many conference championships, even before Beechwood moved out. So I wonder if Ludlow would consider making the jump? At a small school like Ludlow talent always comes through in cycles, but coach Wofford has done a great job with the program and I believe Ludlow could continue to grow as a program under his direction even if they moved up a conference. Either way I am very proud to be apart of the alumni of Ludlow, and love seeing these accomplishments! Hopefully their season can continue and make a run to play at NKU in the region!

I'm not sure they have the numbers to move up and be competitive. This years senior class is somewhat of an anomaly. I think there are around 75 seniors total, a very big class for Ludlow. I have an 8th grader and I believe that class has around 50 students total. I think with those numbers moving to D2 may be difficult.
