  1. I don't think anyone on this site would confuse you with him, LOL! No doubt SK will have a good team, my only thoughts were that BK was a huge part of SK's success. Although Franzen was an adequate QB, NCC didn't rely on him as much (because of other talented players) as SK relied on BK. NCC's defense kept them in games more than the offense did last year. They couldn't out score you, so they had to try and keep you down. I wish the best to coach Marksberry and SK, but just not against NCC.
  2. Who will NCC rely on to play linebacker this year?
  3. I think you can add Jordan Mason from Campbell County at center to this list.
  4. I guess we will never know. I do know this, any team that can put 60 up on the Breds this year would probably be a state champ in their respective class, no way the Birds do that.
  5. With the absence of Wilson, who has the best shot at the QB position?
  6. Is there a possibility Mason Co could schedule more NKY teams during the regular season. A lot of ties between here and there, could make for some interesting rivalry's.
  7. No way they go 0-5. I'm not going to start a ruckus, but everyone of those teams are beatable by the Breds. They're going to surprise the teams who think just because they are 2a and they beat them last year, its going to be a cake walk this year. Everyone of those teams have lost "significant" players either through graduation or wanting to concentrate on another sport. Campbell lost a lot to graduation and even more with Wilson not coming back and SK is minus Kuntz. IMO, both of those teams have more to worry about at QB than NCC. I think the biggest test for NCC is Ashland and controlling UK recruit Baker. If their defense can clamp down on him the running game for the first 5 opponents are in trouble.
  8. I wouldn't call it spring practice, just normal workouts.
  9. I hear the soph Qb Henchen (sp) has looked good in spring practice.
  10. I was referring more to the physicality of the rivalry. Should of made that clear....sorry.
  11. Newport and NCC is always a good game no matter what the talent gap. Nothing like a good ol' neighborhood fight!
  12. I would love to see ZP come back out for football. Although Anderson can/will do an adequate job as the QB, Z would add another dimension to the offense. He could put himself in a class of athlete NCC hasn't seen for a while. Point guard on the All "A" championship basketball team, Short stop on the All "A" Championship baseball team, POSSIBLE QB on the 2014 2A Football championship team. Its not too late!
  13. Defensively, it is going to be hard to replace Sudkamp. He attracted so much attention other defenders were the recipients of game planning against him. Lyon was fast off the edge and when Brooks was healthy made a lot of plays. Kues will be back at end and Tallon at linebacker and I see a couple of soph's (Carmack, Freppon, Pangallo and Sudkamp) contributing. I think Hoover, Wieland and Lawrence see most of the defensive line playing time with Winters and Carmack giving relief. Enslen, Gray and Smith should be in the secondary. This will not be a big team, but they will have improved speed from last years squad.
  14. NCC will have an effective ground game. They will have several senior offensive lineman returning and a couple of juniors who saw time as soph's. Heard some rumblings one of the senior olineman has moved to a skill position in the backfield. If that's the case, I really think they want an extra body on the field to improve the ground game. Hoover, Wieland, Neff, Carmack, Raliegh, Winters, and Lawrence should anchor the line(s). Look for 2 soph's in Brooks and Sudkamp to make an impact there as well. IMO, Anderson will be the qb unless someone else pops out of the woodwork. That being said, he will really need to improve his passing game. Enslen and Gray, as well as Pangallo, should see the ball thrown their way in passing situations. Smith should be the feature back, but look for Harris to give some competition.
  15. I guess we will agree to disagree.
  16. The upside to being 6 foot 9 would be playing tight end. If he's as good as an athlete as everyone says he is, tight and might make more sense. At that size he plays at any Division I school he wants to. Problem is, most coaches won't make the change for the athlete because they're thinking of the team. So many kids make the mistake of giving up one sport for another. I say play them all and see what happens.
  17. I think the Camels end up.500 this year. Unproven at Qb and losing a variety of clutch seniors (Kramer, Woods, Schneider) really puts them at a disadvantage. If Metz and Mason can tutor the younger lineman and get them to play up the camels will be fine. On another note, the freshman squad struggled immensely last year. Hopefully they can find some special teams players in this group to help out the starters.
  18. The 3 senior lineman from NCC should have an outstanding year,Neff at guard of tackle, Wieland at center or guard and Hoover at tackle. Being able to place these three at multiple positions enables NCC to show a variety of fronts.
