  1. I listened to the first half....Lincoln runs the spread and runs a lot of Jet sweeps to Napier that are actually forward passes. Yaden had over 250 passing in the first half. Lincoln also threw the ball down field and receivers made some nice catches.

Apparently Rock has zero passing game and it sounded like Lincoln put the safety Napier in the box and shut down the run....I know he had a bunch of tackles.

Anyway, congrats to Lincoln on the win....they get a very beatable Garrard Co next week.

  2. I think Coach Eddie James has his best team so far at Franklin County. Boyle competed against Franklin in 7v7 and they have some nice skilled athletes.

However Boyle is really good. I think whatever weaknesses seen vs a very good Ballard team will be worked on this week and an even better Boyle team takes the field next Saturday.

    Boyle 52

    Franklin 14

  3. Pretty sure Boyle beat a pretty good team tonight.

I thought the game went about like the Big Rebel Nation thought it would. Boyle playmakers made plays when they had to and carried this team to a win.

    Bartleson is really fast.

    Smith is really, really good.

Boyle is a good team and will be really good as the season progresses along.

This should be a great year to be a Rebel fan.

  4. Lemons?

Just a figure of speech. I hope that did not come across wrong.

I read Coach's blog and according to him he has been working to 'change the culture' at Mercer. That is not easy to do and certainly is not an overnight fix.

For example, Coach B has been working very hard to improve a youth league program in order to build a championship caliber program from the ground up. That prospect has not happened without resistance. Change is never easy, but is almost always necessary in order to grow.

For Coach, he did not have to invest his time and energy into that endeavor, but he did. Because he knows what it takes to have a successful program year in and year out.

Again, I meant nothing negative using that expression. Mercer certainly knows the taste of success and Coach B is working to ensure the program tastes that everyday.

    Good Luck to the Titans!

  5. Question about Tanner. Will he have to sit out the Ballard game for getting ejected against Corbin for giving a first down signal after a great run in the 4th. quarter last year? I thought it was a very bad call on a excited kid after a great run. Happens every game with no call but for some reason the back judge had a burr under his saddle and threw him out for it.

I thought Boyle appealed and won shortly after the title game last year....but I am not for certain. I may have dreamt it who knows!

  6. I think Boyle has a solid plan in place to rebuild the Offensive front. It may take some time, but with all of the playmakers Boyle will put on the field, the Rebels should be poised to make a deep, deep run into the playoffs.

The bigger question will be upperclassmen leadership....who will step up?

    Repeat is a definite possibility.

  7. Boyle may be there in the end....but I do think to O-line will be a work in progress as only 1 starter (Ned Stephens-RG) returns.

Boyle lost from Left to Right: Ryan McClelland, Zane Young, Jon Yeager, and Will Bramel.

I am certain Coach Smith has a solid plan in place to rebuild, but without a doubt there will be some growing pains up front for the Rebels.

  8. I give Travis a ton of credit. He had the right idea of building a program from the ground up. He worked very hard to get the youth league linked to the middle school linked to the high school.

I hope whoever comes in continues to carry this torch. In good time, Lincoln can have a successful program. Travis has planted the seeds, time and patience will get the Pats where they want to be.

  9. It's been 3 or 4 years since Grippo's stopped supplying their seasoning to Mingua Brothers for their beef jerky. Mingua Brothers is making their own BBQ seasoning for their jerky now, and it's good, but not as good as the original BBQ jerky that they made using the Grippo's seasoning.

It looks like the Pap's Foods company out of LaGrange, KY is making their own version of Grippo's seasoned beef jerky now. I'm gonna need to find some and give it a try...
