Who is bashing? I have no idea who gave SK the first place vote but it doesn't matter which one it was. I said it was delusional, probably too stong of a word, because I can't believe ANY NoKY coach believes SK would beat Highlands at this point of the year. I don't say that as a Highlands fan, I say that based on both teams performances and having seen both teams in action.

Like I told you in the coaches poll thread, toss out one coach's understandable (but delusional) vote and it looks a little different.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. What you and a few others don't seem to understand is there are a bunch of knowledgable high school football fans here giving an honest assessment of SK. Obviously, SK has made great strides since the days of being everyones homecoming patsy, but they haven't reached the level of the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel. Plus, running down the accomplishments of teams below your vaunted 6A, does not win you points here or in BGR. Like I said, if 6A is all that and a bag of chips, why schedule 1A and 2A teams? For that matter, why even bother with 5A opponents?

but that doesn't matter because it's only 4A, those state championships don't count. Oh I almost forgot, that is ancient history, history, like a 1-25 record against the Birds can't be mentioned.

And if you pull out Cooper's 4-2 (they have played basically the same cupcake schedule as SK) it's an even worse, 6-20 for the opposition. SK might be the best team in the universe and beyond, but to this point in the season, given their schedule, there is no way to answer this question.

Now that's funny, but beating 5 or 6 cupcakes and average district opponents is meaningful? If only 6A competition is relevant, why not schedule some???

BTW, here are a few teams that you didn't mention that don't define "The Perfect Season" as winning 10 regular season games against sub-par competition: 12 St. Xavier, 11 Beechwood, 10 Danville, 10 Mayfield, Boyle County, 6 Covington Catholic, 6 Fort Campbell, 5 Central, 5 Newport Central Catholic, 4 Bardstown

Yep, and that's how all teams should view a season. None of those teams have the ULTIMATE GOAL of an undefeated regular season, they strive to win the LAST game of the season. They all feel that scheduling UP helps them reach that goal. If you like hoisting district or regional banners, the odds of grabbing the golden ring go way down.

They are VERY important to the OHIO teams, WAY more important than they are to the Kentucky teams because of the Harbin Points. While they are taking the chance of getting zero points if they lose, beating a successfull KY team is a points bonanza because they get point(s) for every game the KY team wins. If the KY team gets pounded 100-0, it only hurts their pride.

Pick "BIGGEST" area game this week. This was suggested in another thread, I thought I'd put it together to see if it would fly.

In my initial comment I was complimenting the BGP mindtrust, I didn't mean to say, or even imply, that a WINNING argument could be made for any of the three. I believe the Birds should be in the #1 spot based on what we have seen to date, but I refuse to count any of the top teams out or discount the opinion(s) of others.
