Great game 40 - 42 going into the fourth with a tie shortly following. Turnovers and missed layups cost the Jaguars the win. This team needs to tighten up on the basic fundamentals of basketball and team play. Held and Mitchell were effective as an offensive duo. Bleska's three pointers were huge in crunch time. Too much time ran off the clock with players refusing to foul in the final minutes and too many missed opportunities by the Jags cost them the win. Great consistency from the Rebels to clinch the win.

What does "open district" mean? It is my understanding that in the Boone County School District you must attend the school designated to your home address. You cannot arbitrarily choose the school you want to go to. I have heard that it is primarily due to high student population at all four schools. I cannot speak for the coaches at Cooper but can only imagine that they CHOSE to come to Cooper to single handedly build a girls basketball program and in fact will. Most that have players on the Cooper team don't ask "why", they are just grateful "a coach" would "go there".

Not very familiar with the 8th region teams, however I do know that Cooper was not up to par last night as a whole. They did, however hold tough and pull out the win although their starting point guard, Lexi Held only played half of the game AND with a broken finger. The turn overs that the Jags forced upon Walton certainly hurt the Bearcats. Anderson, Zingsheim and Bleska played tough and the Jags stayed steady for the victory. These two teams didn't face each other at all last year and would love to have a rematch with both teams primed, going with my heart here though and confident the outcome would be the same.

Yes, and they are playing against girls that are going into the 11th grade. They are classified as D1 8th grade in the AAU organization until 2015.
