Congrats MC on a nice region win. Hope to see you in Frankfort. Catholic played without 2 starters, so I wouldn't draw too many conclusions pro or con. Some subs got their first taste of critical minutes. As a parent, there ARE moral victories, and perhaps tonight was one of them. Hung with Central and exchanged leads till the final minutes. Team-building value may exceed value of a victory. Congratulations Dunbar on a big district win. LexCath played without point guard Michael Talbot, who is healing a bad ankle. His absence made his value evident. Get well, Mike! Let’s hope the boys and coaches take the anger and frustration from this debacle and use it as positive motivation. The best is yet to come.

Truth is, you’re being too kind to them. If I’m correct, Henderson Co. was still ranked both times they beat Henry Clay on neutral floors. If so, Henry Clay is 0-10 against ranked teams. A football dad told me he thought Cantrall football ratings had a weighting based on a team’s prior year, sort of a “strength of program” adjustment. Is that true? Anything similar in their basketball formula? If it’s a mathematical model there has to be something driving this foolish result. Meanwhile across town 2 miles, 16-6 LexCath is 5-2 against ranked teams, with signature wins over the two that beat them (Knott and Lafayette). But .500 Henry Clay gets the ranking.

Lexcath comes back from 9 pt deficit at half to win at Clay Co 81 -68.

KHSAA scoreboard posted this one wrong, when corrected it will say LexCath 67 – Tates Creek 52. LexCath went a little ways down the bench in the first half and cleared it in the second or the score would have been more lopsided. Tanner Johnson with 32. There was about 9 minutes in the second half when the LexCath center was on the bench with foul trouble, and during that time Creek outscored Catholic by a bit. With that and the early subs the second half was even in points but this game was over at halftime. Breeden had mostly starters on the floor till the end. You're right about the funk, but I'm declaring it ended. LexCath goes to Clay Co. tonight, we'll see!
