  1. HS coaching seems to have become "who can you get in, or get to transfer", rather than actual coaching ability. Some schools and coaches get transfers every year and never win a thing. There's also entitled kids that want everything handed to them and transfer multiple times. To be honest, AAU has fed this transfer monster because kids bounce from AAU team to AAU team like crazy just to get what they want. I think the whole scene in Louisville basketball has gone down in terms of coaching and development. I could be wrong, but that's what I see from a distance.

I have to believe that you are very CORRECT.

  2. By the way Perry Co. Central was in the KOB…they requested we let them out of thier contract. Ask the coaches at Apollo and PCC what the problem is, I have talked for hours with both since last March about what might happen. I am 71 years old and the word is LOYALTY…it has nothing to do with the KOB.

    This is my last response.

It'sad, but in todays culture the word LOYALTY has long been forgotten.

  3. Kentucky has now lost 2 of the top 3 players in the state with the loss of Eli and Braxton.

Goodin was my favorite for KY Mr Basketball, regardless, but I don't see how he doesn't get it now with the loss of those two to out of state schools.

Also disappointed I won't get to see a Goodin v Wright matchup in December when I go to North Laurel for the Legacy Nissan Classic.

Yeah,,as I recall you were responsible for getting that matchup put together..

  4. I heard the other nite that Cov Cath had three freshman teams, each having 20 kids currently working out and playing. Anyone know if this is accurate? I also know that Thelen at least is practicing with JV only and not included in these numbers. I knew that there would be great interest amongst the freshman class, but did not think it would be over 30%.

Wow,,I wonder how many are trying out for the crazies ?

  5. Contest it in what way? If mom and dad pick up stakes and move 100 miles down the road, even if the school/coach is ticked I don't see much they can say/do about it. Kid shows up at the school down the road and it's "questionable" as to whether it was a legit transfer, family still seems to reside in same residence, etc...I can see a school questioning that and possibly sending something to the KHSAA. But I would THINK that what ever paperwork a losing school might send to dispute a transfer, that in and of itself would be looked into to see if it's just "sour grapes" or there is actually an issue. And if it's just sour grapes the losing school ought to be held accountable for that as well.

And, to be honest...how often does this happen? Even when the losing school might have some legit complaints/info?

I'm on the same page as you.....

  6. Sounds as if Pig Williams will be playing at Bethal-Tate in Ohio next season. Mason County won't release him to play in Kentucky. All speculation but that what I keep hearing. :idunno:

If it is legal move, can they really keep him from playing in Ky ? Everyone seems to have a problem with Coach Biggs discipline, but if these kids can't play in some what of a structured system, will they ever survive in the real world..

  7. Grant Co not in the top 10??

That's crazy. Collins repeat, Owen Runner up.

Walton will be solid. Gallatin too but really between these four IMO (no particular order)

    Collins

    SK

    Oldham

    Owens

Do you actually know how many players Grant County lost from last year ?

  8. How about a little parenting..............

My point is that Haworth and hoptown are using these kids. Not helping to prepare them for college. It's nice to win, but high school shouldn't be the pinnacle of these kid's careers. Haworth has 5 years worth of track record at hoptown. it's abysmal as far as getting kids, (as students or players) to the next level.
