At least in the Mitchell case, the parents actually rented a place in Ft. Thomas. You could start a whole new thread on HHS transfers. Maile (Edgewood),Draud (Edgewood),Blasingame(Ludlow),Suedtkamp(Bellevue), Cowie (Newport), Hergott (FT.Mitchell) and that was just from my era.

Funny, I have heard the same thing about the coach at Boone. Kind of surprised. Not all is as it seemed during the interview process. The perception of the Boone of old is not the reality of Boone today.

There was a time when Boone had players only playing one way and the special team kids could of started at most surrounding high schools, now they are pulling kids up from freshman team to fill the gaps. "Camelot is over".

I like the moxy but to take a spin from Rick Pitino "Jeff Ward is not walking through the doors anymore".

Take O'hara, if you are starting with a clean slate. He is definitely the best athlete out of the group. I like three year starters. Fiedler (Beechwood), Bir (CCH),and Hempel (Ryle) were all great young talents.

I am not sure if you want to classify as a transfer. I would say it was more of a trade, NCC got the Moeves brothers and Walton received coach Grant Brennan and players to be name later!

I am not to sure how the excited the Boone coach is these days, he has had a brutal first year and the cubbard looks bare in the years to come. The demographics of the county has changed and unfortunatley Boone is on the short end of the stick.

I was at all the 3 games on Saturday, it was the first time that I had seen CCH varsity this year. I was impressed with the "murders row" of coaching staffs they have assembled. CCH is very fortunate to have Joe Frederick on their sidelines. He is one of the most fierce competitors that I have ever met. Joe was underneath the basket in warm ups rebounding and getting the players pumped and giving sound advice. His chest bump with CVH after two straights steals was priceless!

I have been watching Hatton for 4 years and I never have seen him flustered or frustrated once. My son and I were sitting behind the bench his freshman year at BOK against NCC. NCC was up 6 with under 2 minutes, he went over to his point guard and yelled "give me the ball". I have been a fan ever since.

It has become an endangered species, if the athlete is good enough, the pressures to play AAU, select, or club is intensified. A two sport athlete is tough accomplishment at big schools. Football and Basketball combination is tough because of two different types of conditioning. There are many high school coaches flat out discourage multiple sports. I would love to see a resurgance of 3 sport athletes or a backlash against AAU. Terry Sandfoss, Frank Jacobs and Kevin Hergott were all great 3 sport athletes who excelled from my era.

When was the last time anyone has seen kids playing a pick up game in your neighborhood park? I know that's a different thread.

Having had a daughter who graduated from NDA and was part of the volleyball program, I would not of traded her experience at NDA with the top education and soriety bond at an all girls school.

Saying that, I would take St. Henry's Maureen Kaiser everyday and twice on on Sunday. She has had tremoundous success against the Pandas over the last decade. They seem to beat NDA 1 out of every 5 times, when they should be winning 1 out of every 25 based on talent pool. She is no nonsense and keeps the parent's egos in check.

Matt Jones and KSR were invited to the announcement and they have them seated right next to Elam's table, it would be a little awkward if he chose Bama. I am just glad he is making a decision, it has been drawn out.

Paul Sturgeon has St. Henry going in the right direction. He is highly intelligent and will put in the time, St. Henry is lucky to have hired him.

What determines to be eligible for the "All A Classic"? NCC, Newport, and Lloyd participate 2A in football but slide down to 1A for basketball.

Can anyone explain how they reclassify when it comes to basketball (i.e. NCC is 2a in football and 1a in basketball)?

Hatton will have a very quit and smooth 25 as business as usual. Lloyd is bad, Chevy being a former Juggernaut will call off the dogs as best as possible. Dixie's 2's are better than the Lloyd's 1's.

I think he enjoys basketball more, it really depends on how much he grows for both sports.

I welcome this extra week with a passion, the diocese has severed spring break for families that want to leave town. It makes family vacations and high school sports/aau/select/etc... hard to coexist.
