Great work putting this info together! Holy Cross was my suprise and LCA never attending the dance.

We are going old school on this one, the 1983 Highland Bluebirds. I know it sounds absurd with a team that consisted of Willie Schlarman, Jeff Kremar, and a young Scott Draud. If you are old enough to remember, NC (not yet NCC) had Sandfoss, Pangallo and Freppon and Lloyd had Stenzel, Kunkel and Chevalier. They were 1 and 1a going into region tourney.
Mr.Shields got his team hot at the right time, upset NC in the semi's and took Lloyd down in finals. Maybe not Cinderalla but worth mentioning.

Was it Newport over Holmes a few years ago (when Sherwin's guy was at Newport)?
My son and I sat in the front row at BOK for that game, during warmups I said Holmes is going to blow them out, Holmes looked like a college team and Newport seemed to be outmanned at every position.
Newport punched Holmes in the mouth from the start. They got into Elijah Pittman's (I believe 4 pts ) head early and often. Has to be towards the top of the list.

Coach Booher tweeted that tonight's games are "officially" on.
Thanks Clyde, that is why you are the man!

CCH vs NCC semis
Dixie vs Highlands
NCC vs Highlands Finals
Birds go to Rupp (tough to beat a Team 3x in a season)
Did the Khsaa grant Neltner, Smith, and Draud another year of eligibility? If so, I'll go with your pick!

I sensed that as well, what's the deal there?
I had posted this subject in the Mark Whrey thread, been little feedback. The 9th region refs are very generous towards Coach Listerman's rage, he will not have that luxury next week with different regional refs. Hopefully there won't be an issue.
-
I attended the first game and it was close for 3 quarters when CCH pulled away. There are two improvements that Ryle needs to make to have a puncher's chance. Stuhr has to be a factor on the post, I believe he had 4 points the first time they played. He has to take advantage of his size to try to get Schuh and Schult in foul trouble. Number 20 (Ryle fans help me with a name) has the potential to be monster, plays great D, jumps out the gym, and has long range. They do not seem to go him in the games that I've seen.
You are not going to catch CCH sleeping after last night, they win by 16+.

This deserves it's own thread. Listerman has now gone off the last 3 times these 2 leans have played.
I am still a newbie to BGP site, have not created a thread yet, but I am baby stepping towards one. It's the elephant in the room though, Coach L is Red's guy and it is a sensitive subject for Blue to touch. There has been games when he's been restrained by Whinsey (sp?) chasing refs into the locker rooms. I just think this a bigger issue than kid scoring a meaningless basket.

How will Mother Nature affect the games?? Is their a plan B if Monday is a snow out?
Do any of the schools have "no school no play" rule?

Congrats to the Cru and Fish!!
I don't know where the CRU go from here, but they do have the best dressed coach in the 9th region. I had to do a double take, it looked like John Slattery (Roger Sterling) from Mad Men in the Armani! Keep up the great work coach.

Does she stay with the TMC next year? I would like to hear BGP'ers feedback.

Why we just opened up Pandora's box, MTGL's most overused word in sports, I will refrain from using it in this post. I am not worried about at 17 year old kid making a meaningless basket at the end, if anything CCH can use this for inspiration if they meet again.
I want discuss Coach Listermann constantly losing it on the sidelines and getting an extremely long leash from the stripes. Rich Maile had made several comments on the broadcast last night how he was out of hand. I was not in attendance last night, but have witnessed these tirades on several occasions over the last three years.
The proper etiquette is for the head coach to work the refs and the assistants to handle the players. Somebody did not get that memo when he put back on the red sweater vest. Do you give him a pass because he was once one of yours? If Bacigaulpo or Otte acted in this manner, they would have been ran many times.
I am Switzerland on this subject, no red or blue in my closet. I respect what Mike has contributed over many decades, but he is not the head coach anymore.

I could be wrong, but I think Purple pride was reaping of sarcasm in that post .

Mark does a wonderful job and donates a lot of time to a place that is not even his alma mater. It is definitely homerism at its finest. That is the beauty of Cch internet radio. I sure the schools do similar broadcast. I was listening last night, Rich Maile did not have a problem with the basket. Mark had just given the kid a compliment for holding the ball, then he makes the basket, it probably made Mark feel a little jaded. I hope to see round 3 in 8 days!

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but is there any correlation of the Colonels loss and TOG's absence? Did the Bulldog ridden Walter play apart in this mystery? TOG get well soon, Cch needs your karma!
-
CCH shot a scorching 60% plus the first time these two met. CVH had a near perfect game with 10-11 from the field, if I recall. Holmes will bring their A game tonight, but I think they come up a little short. CCH by 6!

Great man and is the patriarch of a great family!

I loved the way Savannah runs the floor, Paige Noble is going to have a bright future!
-
His father was also a beast, two different type players though. Austin has a good nose for the ball, he is in the right place at the right time. A great trait to have, enjoyed watching him tonight.

Great hard fought game. 1st time seeing the Lady Cru, I loved their energy!

Mike Code's boys take it by 15

In last 5 years anyhow, I've never seen St.Henry face guard anyone all over the court. If Goetz guards Hatton, Hatton will post him up everytime down the court. I'd imagine Rechtin will start on him with some zone here and there.

I had Ryle by 4 against Boone the other night, I'll take Conner by 3 in a nail biter!

I just cut/pasted my post from yesterday in the Whrey thread.
