  1. The most important thing to do is to educate yourself on the measureables needed to be recruited, offered and signed at each level for a specific position. Go to places like 247sports, espn recruiting and even Hudl to compare measureables for those that have been signed to play at a particular position. Know your son's height, weight, reach, 40 time, shuttle time, 3 cone time, broad jump and compare to players signed signed/playing a particular position. If you don't have the measureables for a particular level, either go back to the gym, or compromise what level you are willing to play at.

For some positions, SKILL IS IRRELEVANT! Note the 410 lineman signed by BYU. Never played football! These people recruit based upon pure athleticism.

I would even say this, for some positions, you will be more marketable as a recruit , if you train full time, and not even bother playing the game!

One more thing, NKy as a whole is extremely under recruited. It pains me to say this, but you will get significantly more exposure (and credibility) playing across the river.

  2. Looks like this one goes to SK.

These are teenage girls we are talking about. There are no gimmes. SK bench is showing its youth. Their first time around the varsity grind is beginning to show. I saw some "deer in headlights" moments against Franklin County. Bosse is not 100% due to whiplash recovery. I will be curious to see how they respond after a loss.

I can't make this one. Can somebody post score updates? Thanks!

  3. Can anyone provide the link to register all I can find is need articles? A couple kids from Ryle want to go.

Registration is closed, according to their website.

  4. Sk took the lead with around the 3:00 min. mark but could not build on it. Two players fouled out in the remaining 2:18 mark and Sk down 8. Game could have gone either way at that point. They should have never gotten themselves in that situation. Preparation was there but execution was not completed. (playitagain)- ranked team or not really did not matter. Teammate in serious accident DOES affect High school girls and their ability to regroup. They will be fine.Bosse was hit really hard sideways in the head and neck knocked to the floor in the final three minutes and in tears from the hit. Gutsy play but just all out of sync with each other today. Second loss of the year and moving on.

  5. SK played like they just got off the bus. Unforced turnovers and poor decision making all over the place. SK did not immediately establish Meier in the post against a very small, but athletic team. Bosse did not practice this week as she was in a serious car accident last week. She played sparingly. Franklin had 37 free throw attempts. Not blaming the officiating for this one though. Kids were just flat. Congratulations to the Lady Flyers on the win.

  6. Sub Andy Dalton for Richard Wilson and he would win in the playoffs. NFL franchise expectations for the QB position are excessive. Especially based upon compensation awarded without the benefit of proven performance. Even Tom Brady could not win a super bowl in the last 10 years without an elite defensive secondary and an improved running game. Peyton Manning only has 1 in a 15 year career.

Commit to the running game and to the quality of your OL. Limit passes to about 25 a game with most on short high percentage throws, and deep throws on play action.

Dalton is not an accurate enough thrower to throw routes that are not open when the throw is released.

  7. After I posted I realised that the last post was a few years ago. The nuc will be there again this year. I meant how did it go last year? I have a rising junior aand looking at options for him so far we've signed up for sparq Columbus and looking into area college camps

Start from the bottom up. Go to NAIA and D2 camps. Getting offers at lower levels facilitates offers at higher levels. Seek professional conditioning. High school conditioning, unless you are at an elite school is not enough.

  8. The NFL labels itself a "Quarterback Driven League". Unfortunately, this only has a chance of working if you have a HOF caliber QB. If Peyton Manning only has 1 ring in 15 years, how reasonable is it to expect any QB to take you to a SB?

Neither of these QBs will be very successful without solid OL, running game, receivers and defense.

You could sub RG3 for Russel Wilson and get the same results. 20 passes a game with a stellar run game and great defense takes the pressure off a QB and breeds success.

  9. I really did not find NUC to be much value in recruiting. I would spend the time and get on 247 or espn recruiting sites and get the measureables for those kids who are or have been offered at each level. It is imperative to understand what measureables are necessary for a particular position at each level of scholarship football. Have those measurements done in practice and determine at what level your measurables indicate you can play.

  10. Sources confirm Jackson was arrested and issued a citation for allegedly punching a pizza delivery driver in the face and in the back of the head over a parking spot.

The 31-year-old pizza delivery employee told police he said to Jackson that he was going to use the space momentarily, but Jackson allegedly got upset and told the driver to get the "expletive" out of his parking space before punching the driver in his face and on the back of his head.

Jackson is the linebacker whose interception of New England Patriot's Tom Brady pass allegedly started DeflateGate.
