  1. So is Jefferson at Beechwood another case like Von Handorf at Villa. I would think that with what Beechwood has in the way of varsity players would definitely open up varsity time for Jefferson, a lot of varsity time. They have to be looking for a scorer with Jacob Huff gone to graduation.[/quote

I guess people don't bother to read the whole thread. Jefferson will probably be playing varsity, JV at least. Don't wait around for him to play middle school.

  2. I get that but why go to Beechwood at all?

Probably doing a CVH/Villa, get a year of varsity experience in as an 8th Grader.

Beechwood is a lot less expensive than Villa. ( I know CVH did not attend Villa). I think I saw the old Holy Cross bus at Beechwood, with Erik Goetz be hind the wheel.

  3. Mason ended tied at 51 all in the scrimmage against Cov Cath last night. Garrison had to have had about 30. Seen a lot of attitude and not much heart coming from the Mason bench. Hope the boys can get it together and have a good season!

It's summer a lot f the same on every bench! You may be over thinking this.

  4. I am with TheFauxTiger on the Seibert debate. Put your best on the mound and go with him as far as you can. If Seibert was only available to pitch 4 innings, that is poor planning leading up to district play. If he had no innings limits on him, why wouldn't you start him?

Who said he was only available for 4 innings? No one! You read what you wanted so you could agree with your tiger friend. Poor planning, you sure don't know Pat Ryan!

I'm sure you would have done it different. Second guessing coaches seems to be a hobby of yours, Football, Basketball and now Baseball you couldn't be a coach your way to smart.

  5. Unless he is hurt and couldn't go, coach should be crushed. You get to regional first. Period. They are a really poor hitting team, only way to win is to hold opponent to 3 or less. Would love clarity.

Maybe Pat Ryan's million years of baseball and coaching experience should be questioned by every parent or fan of an opposing team. I'm sure Pat did what he did to put his team in the best position to win. He almost pulled it off. Congratulations Pat and the Indians.

  6. I don't personally know Coach Biggs. Know the conversations I overheard while playing at Ashland last season were very negative about his ability to interact with the players. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the change, but will make my own judgements as the season begins.

You need to respect your leader, not necessarily like them. That got lost at Ashland. Parents need to be respected not necessarily liked, you do not need to be your kids best friend. My generation of parents for some reason did not raise great parents. I say it again, if the coach is not abusive or lying to your kid you need to support them both and not trying to pacifie your kid.

  7. I once sat by Dave at a CovCath Freshman game and the conversation he was having with his daughter was not very ambassador like. Reason being was he was making fun of the abilities of the other team and their coach. So don't color me a fan of Dave's. Your previous association with the Blue Colonels allows you only to see the sunny side of TOG.
