  1. IMO a great JV coach would be one that takes a good to mediocre freshmen team and gives the varsity coach a very good group to work with.

On the others hand a bad JV coach could be one that takes a very good group of freshmen and gives the varsity a mediocre group

You're putting a lot on a coach, good or bad. Now a days, a lot has to do with the off season work a kid puts in, especially between their 8th grade, freshman and sophomore years.

  2. Take it away brother. I don't claim to be the authority on anything, not even football. I just fill in my views and knowledge where I have a view to share.

Question for you - in the past 10 years, how many baseball/football players have played around with basketball? I don't think there have been very many but you probably know better than me.

VOR VOR. Many many times you have tried to come off as the authority on Beechwood sports. Here is what you don't understand, if you are going to play basketball and another one sport you have to put in the off season work. The football players at Beechwood never did this. You can play more than one sport and be successfull but you have to put in the work and respect those who do. So the answer to your ten year question is ALL of them.

  3. As long as Beechwood's Football/Baseball players are choosing to concentrate on those sports and not playing around with Basketball the basketball program can be successful. As far as the younger kids staying at Beechwood, you are not dealing with the Beechwood you have always known. Moving out of NKAC Div III has made a huge impact in the improvement of the BB program at Beechwood. As far as BHS basketball History, I got you, something VOR would not understand.

  4. This is all not new! Highlands Middle school basketball fans have never behaved. I remember a few years back a father of one of the players saying some very off color thing about a player on an other team. This was during the Dayton Tournament. The coach of the team the boy was playing for asked the Dayton Administration to address it, they did, it stopped. All in all Highlands does not have bad fans in High School but I must admit the middle school is bad.

  5. Slusher's brothers are Brandon and Brady. Brandon went to NKU on a baseball scholarship and is now the trainer at Beechwood, at least he was last year. Brady was a walk on at UC football. I'm not sure how that worked out. Both brothers were members of State Champion football teams at Beechwood. Something that is never mentioned is that Kyle Fieger and Slusher are first cousins.
