none. that's part of the reason our kids can't compete with kids from the south.

yes...what they look for is a kid that can throw a killer fastball and change up off it...then introduce them to the 12-6 curve (no more than 5 a game or bullpen)...they are looking to develop local kids for the big club Redskins so they don't have to depend on southern kids to fill the void. that goes for any position not just pitcher.

Either way WTF32`s boy is a Midland stud....not a matter of if but when.

just wait til you see his 12/6 curve...real knee buckler...they only let him throw 5 a game on his club team. They say the first high profile arm they blow out will be their last. He slows his arm speed on it sometimes and hangs it. But when he throws a good one, it's virtually unhittable.

I hope I'm doing this right...he was the 2nd to last pitcher for the Gold squad.

yup...he's taking the hill today in the final day of tryouts at Florence Freedom...I talked to the coach and they are not sure how its going to shake down with JV so no decision has been made. They don't want to put him on the roster and sit. If they don't move some kids up they want him to go back to Midland. We are a National League team in SWOL and play a very competitive tournament schedule. They want whats best for him in the long run. I appreciate that. I wasn't expecting him to make it this year. Just wanted him to get the experience. The kid doesn't see things that way and has been busting it.

mine is a 7th grader going out for Freshman team. I ask him how he did, he keeps saying "good". not sure what that means. They did some hitting in cage today and all he could tell me is "good" and "I got hit". is this normal?
