I've been by a few high school fields this past week and none of them looked like they are ready for play. With all the rain, (and snow) we have had, there is a ton of water on most fields.

 

Any feedback on fields that are ready other than the Florence Freedom field (obviously)?

none. that's part of the reason our kids can't compete with kids from the south.

From what I have seen Scott is dry. They just need to spread dirt and it should be ready to go.mi see it playable by hopefully this Friday.

Ryle's infield hasn't even been turned over yet. Lots of grass chunks growing in it. Outfield is so saturated you sink an inch when you walk through it. But the 1-3" of snow we're supposed to get tomorrow should really help things out tremendously. :ohbrother:

How is HHS' field? Any chance the Frosh will play on it on Monday ?

I hear Conner's field should be ready for games against Dixie on Saturday (JV and Varsity). Dixie's field is not yet ready.

Plan is to play varsity today (v. Walton Verona) and 3 games tomorrow (varsity v. Beechwood & Holy Cross and JV v. Holy Cross at 1700). We shall see.

Boone cancelled their freshmen game with SK this evening ( at Boone ). And Dixies freshmen game with Conner was cancelled for tomorrow afternoon at Dixie. So what are the weather experts forecasting for Sunday-Monday?

Dixie will play at Conner tomorrow, JV and Varsity.

It was played, with Ryle winning 4-0. Field was in excellent shape, although infield grass was still soft and balls died very quickly. Overall, field is in nice shape considering the miserable weather to date.

Scott is now playable as of this afternoon. They are going to tarp it tomorrow before the snow.

I think most of them are getting into playable conditions.
