It was a 4 pm game. I'm sure 3 hours make a huge difference. And for the record even Dusty played Weiters last night and this afternoon.
So you're a Dusty fan? Were you when he was here?
And to be fair, Mes was on base 5 times last night partly because he was HBP twice. Doesnt take a lot of talent for that.
I'm not a Price fan. But if anyone thinks a good or even great manager would make a difference with this pitching staff, they're fooling themselves.
-
So you start at 4:10 instead of 7:10 and it becomes a day game?? what happened to the days when catchers caught both games of a doubleheader. Gimme a break!
I said I didn't like it if you are capable of reading. Just stating where the game is today. Plus Mes is coming off two years of injuries.
-
When they think they have a team that can contend he'll be gone. With this entire pitching staff, Sparky, LaRussa, Torre and Stengel couldn't win with.
Paying now for going "all in" from 10-12.

Meso on base 5 times last night. He's sitting today. Bryan Price sucks.
It's called day game after night game and every manager today does it. Don't like it but they all do it.

I spoke with Ken Anderson about Earl Campbell and he spoke nicely of him but said Pete was so underrated. He said they were very similar but EC got the ball 40 times a game.
For me and what I watched, Brooks is #1 and he NEVER shied from contact. Dillon and PJ. I'll put Clark and Robinson on list just cause my pop spoke of them a bunch.
-
Bacon, Reid, Krumrie and Edwards top 4. Since Atkins isn't on list I'll stop at four.
Still upsets me almost 30'yeara later that krumrie and Wilson played little or none of SB 23. What a huge loss on both sides.

Thank you for that. I had seen his name from time to time around campus, especially the old school but never knew the history. That's just a shame.

It's because they're all such great guys, has nothing to do with money!!
Ever see the wives of some of the NASCAR drivers? The driver can be a 5'4" pile of ugly and the girl is hot... every... single... time.

I wonder if there may be a coach in place already if the whole staff is gone. Some of these guys were BW alumni. It's hard to find enough people to cover 3 teams and be there every day at 2:30. I would think unless you have a coach with staff in mind, you would let the new coach decide if he wants any of the holdovers.
Now, if they left out of respect to Bob, that's another matter.

I watched with two buddies who know nothing of hockey and like the NBA. They will be watching playoff hockey from now on!!! They loved the energy and the crowd

What's the problem with it? I haven't seen anything on it other than Kevin Na showing the rough being like a foot tall about a club length off the fairway.

Bailie Morlidge
Scott Tackett
Gary Nussbaum
And if I can go top 4 I would add Brandon Berger.
Solid. If Berger isn't in top three, shows you the quality of their program.

CCH fan. Really thought if Highlands won this, they'd win it all. Their side of bracket is loaded. SK got the easier side for sure.
Mr Doty, didn't know you at all but great 4 years. Best of luck to you.

Was able to watch some for first time in a while and a little Tuesday night as well. I'll be honest, the split stinks. I'm not sure who's on what show and just a lot of filler. With almost everyone healthy you could have a nice three hour show on Raw and not have a part timer as champ. If split stays, take Raw to two hours.
Question: what happened to "the big guy"? Did he leave or was he dumped?
-
Someone explain to me how Doty doesn't make the all tourney team. He takes 'arguably' the best offensive team out out of the tourney and he doesn't make the team? Not only that.... he shuts down Beechwood and leaves the game and Rom gives up the tying run of the game...so they bring back Doty to win....and Rom makes the all tourney team? seems like a joke.
Ask the coach. The players on all tourney team are turned in by their own coaches.

Be there Friday. Look forward to standing on BP's first ab. 100% reds HOF'er in future. Something tells me though that not everyone misses him inside the clubhouse.

I've never heard anyone differentiate. I watched all three local channels yesterday and listened to the game and everyone said Covington Catholic graduate Luke Maile. No one said greater Cincinnati product Luke Maile. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him to be honest except for his batting average which Is bad.

Union County for the second year in a row sent Christian County home with a 6-5 upset win. CC with a regular season record of 24-9 compared to UC 16-21 had beat the Braves 12-2 in a regular season game. The big blow came in the top of the 6th with Union down 4-0, had runners on first and second with no outs. Coach Robison whom I think it's safe to say plays a lot of small ball but has been known to all of us to gamble on occasion did just that. Instead of giving Coy Burns the bunt sign he gave him the green light and he jacks it over the left field fence. All of us here assumed he would move the runners up with a bunt. Big day for Coy as he then came in to pitch Union out of a jam in the bottom of the 6th and get 2-3-4 out in the bottom of the 7th. Coach Robison doesn't get a whole lot of credit but he has revived the Union baseball program to a level not seen before. This is a very young team and the future is bright for the Union program.
If I am reading this correctly, Union County was down four in the sixth. No coach is bunting and giving the other team an out when you are down to six or less. At this point you have to play for the big inning. Down two or less maybe you bunt but not down 4.

Well said ATH. Congrats to Conner and best of luck.
Nice job by CCH seniors on a great season. Represented well. Tough to see them as they came off field last night. It obviously meant a lot to them.

Gillett
Rijo
Cueto
Weaver
Jackson
If you're old enough to remember Gullet and Seaver then you remember Soto. You'd put Jackson over him?

I've only seen this video once but before he took ball away, didn't he check with security front office via his walkie talkie or whatever and then take the dad and the ball? Maybe I'm wrong on this?
-
My dad played against him as young boys. Said he was the most competitive person he ever went against. IMO a nice representative of KY in his post baseball life. RIP.

Are you saying they needed to throw their number 1 pitcher to beat a team that went 3-20 this year.... just to be safe? I think they were safe throwing 2-5. Hindsight, the pitcher they did throw did very well in the loss. This would have been a bigger issue had Cooper won, say 3-1 in 7. What I believe happened is that the coach wanted to insure Nick got the school record for wins and thought pitchers 2-3 would beat Cooper or Ryle.
I'd be totally shocked if the coach put an individual record ahead of moving on to region. Conner right now doesn't hit much and I'm sure that was his reasoning.

I'm a CCH guy and will readily admit that they got more strikes called. However, their pitcher was ahead on almost every batter and was low and outside. Other teams pitcher was behind a lot and touch wild. Pitcher throwing strikes gets more calls. Maddux made a career of it. BW pitcher also showed frustration openly. Doesn't help. Not blaming him, just saying.

It was incredibly awful and I'm not shocked
