  1. In response to lamontab, IMO you have to throw in the three-headed monster at Lloyd (Durham, Lunsford, and Townsend ). Granted Townsend may primarily play wr this upcoming season, but a combination of Durham and Lunsford make a very strong rb tandem. Also from what I have witnessed Harris at NCC is a good compliment to Smith making them another solid tandem of rbs. I agree with the take many others offer that the rbs in NKY are very deep and talented accross the board. This should help make for some very exciting action over the course of the 2015 hs football season.

Harris and Smith will definitely compliment each other very well. I also agree, this is gonna be a fun yr watching this group of rb in NKY this yr!

  2. I have already said plenty . I have nothing else to say on this topic. Agree to disagree . Just a bad taste when we tell our kids go have fun Johnny...it's not about winning Fridays !! It's all for fun !! No wonder Scott has had so many problems keeping talent. I brought my kids here to win and be part of school history and be a winning program like the others in Nky . I guess I owe you and my kids an apology. We should of went Beechwood, Dixie , or Sk. These programs push to win !! As far as Cooper they have gone a long way in a short time .. I am certain they don't tell them boys to settle to be average. I am done ..

Don't apologize for being excited for your team you have every right to! This is not peewee football the goal is not to go out on Fridays and have fun, it's to win a state championship!! Btw u could always come to NCC they definitely push their little team to be winners lol.

  3. And you know this how? Just curious if these are calls received or is this interest via mail and such? What camps are kids in NKY attending? Maybe this should be for another thread because I would be interested in hearing what camps kids are attending over the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Smith has had phone calls with coaches from Hanover, Mt St Joe, Morehead St and Ohio. Has received emails from Kent State and Ball St as well as EKU. He has a list of camps he will be attending, I will gather them up and send them to you.

  4. So again you want to use the past as your reasoning until someone brings up SK's bad past...then it doesn't matter right?

What a joke. I hope Ryle destroys SK

Just out of curiosity why do you keep arguing and picking with uk#1 fan? You know he has you on ignore. Furthermore, it seems to me you would be more concerned with the Cooper SK game than Ryle thumping them, unless you think Ryle has the better chance.

  5. I agree in asking why was he not charged with a DUI? In Kentucky, the law states if you are behind the wheel of a car and the ignition is on you are in control, therefore it absolutely should have been a DUI. A public intoxication? He wasn't walking down the street, where does that charge even come in at?

  6. I think the RB tandems from Scott and Holy Cross maybe the most talented in NKY. HC has 2 6'0 220lbs RB's (Abernathy/Barnes) and we all know how good the Scott RB's (London/Pleasant) are.

I guess we all can just sit back and wait for this year to begin to see who we all think is the best rb in NKY.

  7. Let me try this and hopefully people can see this for what it is. I assume that these are career numbers. Pretty obvious that England's stats are for one year only. Could someone break these numbers down by opponent. Without a doubt all are quality running backs based upon the numbers, but what about the competition level for each? What was the running back situation at said school? I do not see Stringer's name on this list and that would be because he had to share time at Beechwood. There are no kids from Highlands because they do not have just one running back that gets the ball 20-25 times a game and in many cases someone has to wait their turn. The same thing can be said about running backs at CovCath. Heck probably their best back last year was playing defense. In these cases, numbers really do not mean anything when evaluating a kids ability to play or not play at the next level. College coaches evaluate these kids on film and in person at camps and such and if they are really interested they will show up on campus to watch practice or a game live.

Question is do any of these kids have an offer on the table as yet? Not attempting to belittle rather just curious. Everyone can argue for their kid, but truth is the numbers would be different if they played at other schools. Smith played at NCC as a frosh, would he have played at Ryle, Simon Kenton, Cooper, Highlands, CovCath or Beechwood? England played varsity as a frosh at a different position and would he have played more as a running back at NCC, Cooper, SK, Highlands, CovCath or Beechwood? Those are the two kids that I am most familiar with which is why I commented on them specifically. If Stringer had attended SK, would Powell be the main running back?

All questions for you to ponder rather than attempting to tear someone else down to make yourself feel better.

  8. You northern Kentucky teams need to come down to Male to get a real game in. The purple and gold are the real deal. Stud quarterback that will run all over any defense and an O line that will handle any D line. SK, New Cath, all would have a tough time competing with Male.

I would hope they could run all over New Cath, we are 2A!! I don't see you big boys calling out Highlands! Btw stop worrying about NKY teams and worry about getting through Trinity!

  9. This is a email with real intrest. never went to the camp. School came to the HS later in the summer and offered. FCS school.

I hope this email finds you doing well. I just wanted to reconnect with you two and explain that our interest in XXXX is still extremely high. XXX's highlight tape has been watched by our entire offensive staff. After watching his tape as a staff we evaluated XXXX as a potential offer though we would love for him to attend one of our camps this summer. I understand that this is no easy feat given our distance from Kentucky. However, as I coach XXXX's position I truly like xXXx's ability and think he would be a great fit in our offensive scheme. I attempted to call xXX today and use my one permitted call and was unable to get in touch with him. I just wanted to reiterate my personal and our teams interest in xXXX and hope attending one of our camps is still something you both will consider. Congrats on your offers I knew it was only a matter of time before they came your way. Have a wonderful afternoon and Go Rams!!

Just a FYI Smith has not been to their camps yet! He was invited to come to their schools first. Ohio invited him, has been to his school and now invited him to their camp. He has not been to Mt. St Joe but the coach has been to his school, and he has not been to EKU camp just an visit that he was invited to by the Coach. Let me clear that part up.

  10. After having been through it as a parent, being "invited" to a school's camp is nothing noteworthy. The coach usually just wants butts in seats and dollars coming in. Granted, if there is a standout, he will get noticed...but camp interest is alot different than recruiting interest.

We did the Manning passing academy too, and for a 8th grader or freshman, it is pretty cool. For a rising junior or senior looking to get recruited, its a waste of time and money.

Ok, well the couple visits that he has made after being invited the coaches have kept in close contact with him. It was after the visit with Ohio and EKU that they invited him to the camp.
