NCC coach definitely encourages his players to go to camps.

On paper I thought they still had a good nucleus returning. I think they will be pretty good.

They lose a majority of their oline, their qb, one if their key rb. Not sure really who they have coming back, but do know they lose some very valuable key players. Not knocking them, simply saying I don't see them having a winning season with that schedule. But again that's just my opinion.

Not sure how anyone can predict what Newports team will do next year with so many question marks right now. Who would have thought Newport would have done as well as they did the last two season's when they hired a coach that no one ever heard of in Matt Schmidt. What if they do it again? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I have never been a big fan of adults sitting behind a computer predicting the failure or lack of success of high school teenagers. I really hope the Wildcats move forward and build on the short success and culture change that Coach Schmidt brought to the program.

First of all I'm not predicting the failure of success, all I said was with the KEY PLAYERS they lost it def will be a rebuilding year.

How is his hamstring holding up ? Heard he pulled it again? Hopefully he can avoid the injury bug this season !! He will be needed to stay healthy to make that run !!

He did not participate in any drills yesterday at the Ohio camp. I am assuming it's because he re injured his hamstring at UC.

Smith will be attending Ohio University as well as Miami of Ohio this week.

Well I guess we can thank God that all we need to win is our district since we are so bad we can't win anything else.

Was told McClendon had over 20 both games again and that Arnold has been killing it. Too big and strong inside for everyone. That will be a common theme for him this

I suspect someone is using an alias (again) - will pretend to be all about Ryle then "see the light" (aka unbelievable talent pool at SK) and switch allegiances mid-season. Grammar - and the hyperbole - has a strange familiar feel to it.

I agree it's definitely someone using an alias, but I would hope that's not an adult with that wording. Half of it made no sense lol.

Honestly let's move on from Smith. We don't want to take anything away from the rest if the young men who work extremely hard to make NCC successful. I don't think Smith cares about being the best, he just wants to help his team win.

Well we can all move on from the strength of schedule and Smith. This thread is about what NCC needs to do as a team to have a successful year correct?

They always play some 6a teams. Some of those other guys played in State championships as well. Not knocking any of Jake's achievements because he has had a tremendous career, but last season they played Lloyd, Newport, Brossart and Holy Cross in the regular season. I understand that those are district games. That's an easy 750 yards for a good running back. Their road to state was a cake walk against Owen County, Walton Verona, and Gallatin County.

Not to get into this but I'm pretty sure we have played those same district games for at 15 yrs. Also, not that last yr was any harder because it wasn't but we played Trimble County, Lloyd, Newport and Shelby Valley to make it to state.

Don't think Smith will be the best to ever come out of NCC but we are definitely excited to see this season play out. With Lawrence, Winters, Kues, Pangallo, Neff, Davis to name just a few to go along with Smith and Harris it should be an exciting season from those boys on the hill.
