I really think Cooper's run defense will shut down NCC running attack no matter who was playing for them. I will make a bold prediction that there will be no more than 3 1st downs gained on the ground. It's not a shot against NCC but how well Cooper's D played against the run vs Highlands who has a much bigger line than NCC.
Cooper's run defense did look good, but not sure if you guys watched film in NCC run defense but they also shut London down for Scott. I know he had a few nice runs but nothing spectacular IMO. Guess we will just see. Cooper may very end up winning this game but I don't see a blow out. Maybe I'm wrong, we will just find out on Friday night.

The SK fan is right Smith is healthy just on suspension! You ask why?
Lol
-
Is tallon ok for NewCath. Came out of scott game with about 2 minutes left with what looked like an ankle injury. Breds really need him on D
I believe Tallon is good to go as well as Hightchew.

Not going to get into it but he will not play in the first two games due to disciplinary action. He will return in week 3 against Campbell County. Fact!! They will undoubtedly be a better team with him. Young man has
I'm pretty sure this has been addressed by Guru and everyone was told to move on, so let's move on. Doesn't really matter the reason he is out he will be out until the Campbell County game then he will come back and help his teammates finish the season strong.

Smith is healthy! Need to follow rules to help his team. With or without Smith, no way they beat Cooper. 24-7 Jags
Lol

Cooper names score amd keeps rolling. Hopefully the Breds get healthy and keep improving with this game.
I don't think they name the score
-
It will take place at Cooper

Did NCC play Scott last year? If so, what was the result?
No, NCC and Scott did not play each other last year.
-
That being said ...I wouldn't over look Scott and the talent they have . They are very well rounded this season. They have a running game , as everyone knows. They also have a passing game . The defense looks solid as well as the special teams . I think it will be a good game . Will definetely be attending this one .
Agreed! Honestly this is gonna be one of the better games Friday night. I know there are a couple others ones but this should be on that list! Good luck to both teams!!

People seem to over look the other talented running backs at Newcath....John "Hairball" Harris looks really good, I look for him to make a huge impact for the Breds.
You can also count the other young men that I look forward to having a huge impact back there with Smith. I've said it over and over in this thread yes Smith definitely is an asset but NCC will be fine.

When you are a small school and going against a good large school, losing one player does matter, especially if he is going both ways. When you lose your best player, imo, it matters even more because there is usually a big drop off at small schools because there are less kids to choose from. Should NCC forfeit.....are you suggesting that? No one on here has suggested that. Wonder why you say that Sportsfan2012? When you cheer for a good player in the area, it is good to know why he is missing games if he is injured. No one likes to see kids get injured. Guess you don't care whether he is injured, whether he plays, or care about the kid in general the way you are carrying on. I hope he isn't injured personally so I was wondering why no one is talking about his well being. Watching high school football, you should always care about the well being of every kid. If he did something wrong, sit him and hopefully he learns from his mistake. If he is injured, how many games will he be out? Are these bad questions to ask?
I am just going on something you said, if Smith doesn't play you will take Scott and it won't be close. I am merely stating that there is other players on that team can step in for Smith's presence that's all.
-
Who is hosting, sounds like a good game, just may attend myself
Scott
-
Injury or did he do something wrong and they are sitting him? If he isn't playing, Scott wins and not that close
If he plays he plays, if he doesn't he doesn't. NCC has players that are willing to step in and can step in. Don't count them out because 1 player may or may not play. BTW what does it matter the reason just being curious? Should NCC just forfeit to Scott because 1 player isn't playing?
-
It doesn't matter if Smith will miss, NCC will have multiple players willing and able to step up.

Scott by 21 or more.

Was very impressed with the team as a whole. More options in the backfield which is always refreshing, the defense played hard all night flying to the ball. Lawrence is just an absolute beast, giving the qb fits all night. Qb scrambled more and found open guys. McHugh played great all night snatching just about everything thrown to him. As I said, correct me if I'm wrong but the team as a whole did a great job last night.

Laughing...and I totally agree with this assessment.
No crying over here, like I said good luck to u guys seems like u will need it.

You want real talk? Ok. Lets do it. All team jabbing aside. Mayfield is, and should be the favorite. They have more pieces back on their championship team, than we do. I like our team. If last years role players can develop for us, then things could get interesting. I still think with what we have coming back on the defensive side of the ball can keep us in most games. The semis will more than likely go through Mayfield. That will also be a big challenge. I like DeSales as the #2 team in the class. I have seen CAL many times. They have a great coaching staff, I like them at #3 . I have always given NCC their props. However, when I saw them in BG last year, that was a total mismatch. Unless a lot of things have changed, they just don't match up with the top 3 coming out of the west. I like Somerset this year I think they can push NCC this year. I do expect NCC to be in BG. But it's not far fetched that they would be the underdog in the title game. Not a knock on them.
I saw the Colts first hand last Friday night. They looked solid. They are big, and athletic looking. I expect Johnson to have a monster year. Does he have enough weapons on the offensive side to make a run? We'll have to wait and see. We'll know more this Friday when we scrimmage Meade County.
Lastly, no one is forcing you to read this board. Don't get your feelings hurt from someone else's opinion. There is no crying in football.

I wasn't even talking my team up in the post that was quoted. It's obvious that the top four teams in the west would be favored in the state title game against ANY team from the east. It's not garunteed NCC will make it either. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
Ignorance??? I never said NCC would make it, but you don't see NCC fans on here guaranteeing it like DeSales is. Good luck to u guys you will need it since the West is so loaded.
-
Championship will go to a west team in 2A.
Keep telling yourself that... I don't know who has the bigger heads on this thread u guys or Mayfield... U guys almost make it miserable to get on here and read!!!! get over yourselves, anything can happen on any given Friday.
-
I am a Mayfield Cardinal and I will weigh in. NCC does not have just as good a chance as anyone else. That is Homer Simpson at his best. UK#1 has prescription glasses.
Lol
-
If they're waiting for another State Championship it'll be a while.
Don't be so sure if yourself!
-
While you are waiting patiently, just Come on down to mayfield, we'll show you boys how football is played..oh, and while your here be sure to check out our 10 championship rings..just stirring the pot!
Wow really nobody is afraid of big bad Mayfield!!! But if you knew what you were talking about, you would know he isn't a NCC fan he is SK!!!
