I'm a Mercer fan. I'm not on here to argue. But how was Friday night's game a squirrel finds a nut? Did you watch the first meeting between these two teams? I did as I've watched every Mercer game this season. In the first meeting Boyle scored on their first drive of the game. Then was held scoreless until their last drive within the last 3 min of the game. Me being a die hard fan even had my own doubts about the first meeting. But all doubts was put aside Friday. Yes that was a huge win for us. But it wasn't a lucky win. Mercer also failed on two Fg tries in the first half. Getting a block in the back penalty calling back a td in the first half. Mercer County out played Boyle Friday night and was the best team Friday night. Not hardly finding a nut. I would argue that if you looked at Boyle/Mercer matchups this season I am sure you would find Mercer held Boyle's offense better than any other Boyle opponent. I could be wrong. Will they beat Lex Cath I don't know. I sure hope so. But that's why they play game. Just a few things on this coming game against Lex Cath. Let's not forget that was Crawley Goodman's first game at qb ever in his life. The kid is a special athlete. Mercer had 5-6 fumbles in that game. If Mercer plays def like they have proven they can vs Boyle and holds on to the football they have a shot a very good shot. Now as for Highlands. I'm a die hard like I've said but also realistic. We would have to play the game of our lives. Highlands would probably have to be off quite a bit. But that's why they play the game. Not saying we can or will beat Highlands if we play, but stranger things have happened. But for now we are playing for a region title on Friday and that is all I'm focused on.

I agree. You say size matters when elit play elite. I agree. I think the question to this thread is. Does size make them elite. Or that's how I take it. And it's already been said it boils down to and always will coaching. The program. Take a small program coached right. They'll beat a poorly coached big program every time. Now on the other hand. Take a small program against a big program. Both programs coached well, and I'll take the bigger deeper program all day. So IMO size is a factor. But not as big as coaching. And I'm sure this has been said. To get to the bottom of this. What makes a elite program elite? And that answer is not enrollment. So my final answer is no size doesn't matter. If a program is ran right. And I may have just sounded stupid but oh well. Lol

Well they both are bigger than Peavler. And pretty close to Sims size. Sims plays safety/ wr Peavler plays cb/wr. They're same size than Bradshaw who plays LB/ some rb. Both are better backs then Bradshaw. Taking nothing away from Bradshaw he has done a great job running. Yes they'll be better next yr, but could contribute this season. Special teams,wr,rb to give Johnson a blow,or defensive back. And the third would be Jerrad if his heads right. He will play some varsity def next season. And the other two you could argue are D smith and stansfield. As db's or special teams. Not saying impact players but contribute. And would keep some legs fresh. That would be their role this yr and next. IMO

3 from middle school team will contribute next season. And you could make a case for 2 others. Key word is contribute. None of them will be game changers next season. But should contribute something on varsity level. 2 of the 3 would contribute this season if they were in highschool. Contribute is key word once again. Rather it's special teams or whatever.

Funny thing is. The only person said anything about a streak isn't even a Mercer fan. They actually are a rebel fan.

Lol I really don't care. I'm just excited about the game Friday. It doesn't get any better. Two teams with a lot on the line. So I'm sure both teams will brin their A game. Then with the added Pardue was coach at Boyle. Just makes it that much better.

I haven't seen Danville. So I couldn't say either way. You have seen both, but you haven't seen Mercer with Davis. So if you thought Mercer was better than Danville before. Then I'll say they're better now for sure with Davis at qb. He opens our offense up. Johnson has scored 14 td in last 3 games. Yes I know the defense they faced wasn't as good as Boyle. But you can see how it opens things up for the run. Having a passing threat is great which everyone already knows.

I agree with that statement. And can't say enough good things about him (Pardue). He seems to have the boys attention and respect. He has been to every middle school game that has been home or close to home. These boys haven't had stability at all. Counting Pardue we've had 4 head coaches in the last 5 yrs. He's the third coach that the current seniors have had. I hope he sticks around for awhile. We have a lot of young talent coming through next 4-5 yrs. and I truly believe under him we can make some noise.

Well I can tell you. He wants to win this game as bad as any coach. Any coach wich is playing a game with so much at stake. And you're correct it is the biggest game of the season. Especially with all that is on the line. I also will take this time to say how glad I am that we have coach Pardue. He is the best thing to happen to mercer football since the merge. I look forward to our future here at Mercer. In my opion we have over achieved this season. Going by what we have been like last couple. The football program is headed in the right direction. We need the win on Friday for couple reasons. For some respect and for some confidence. This is a huge game for both teams. I'll close with this statement. Win or lose this game doesn't make mercers season. I'm proud of the team and coaching staff, and can't wait to watch the program grow. Go TITANS!!!!!

It all depends on which Mercer team shows up. The defense over looked Taylor, and didn't play with any swagger at all. Mercer defense seems to play up to or down to opponents level. Offensively with the emergence of Davis for Mercer looks good. The mix of him and Darion Lewis is a good thing. And Johnson is Johnson and going to get his. With that said if Mercer comes to play it will be a interesting game. If they don't Boyle will embarrass them. But I'm going to predict Mercer comes to play and wins by a touchdown.
