  1. Bo....great kid...very raw...athletic....but not close top freshman basketball talent.....shot not developed at all...very poor form
  2. Dixie best team in tourney ...Bo is great athlete but not close to best freshman in n. Ky.....coached against him alot....keep him out of paint a non factor
  3. Walton over brossart by 1.....WV top players in foul trouble whole game...8th graders played well off bench...nice win.
  4. Anyone one got scoring totals for WV two games in Gatlinburg? Any updates on Mcneil or Hargett?
  5. Anyone know how brossart freshman team has played this yr?
  6. Zach is a great player, very tough playing through his condition....another reason I think when he is back needs to be moved to the 2room guard. He great spot up shooter, moves good w/o ball, teams figured out wear him down by pressuring 90 ft, &I better ball movement for WV when he's not on point. If Hargett plays with that toughness best potential for next level in n.Kye....many more tools than say kid like Hatton.
  7. With my posts not trying say I have the wisdom, I think coach trame is a very good coach, but what he is doing with this team is not working. I disagree with some of philosphies like playing so many players and subsituting for players every two minutes, no way to get into a flow of a game like that. I might understand if they press 32 minutes, but they never press. In my opinion if your going to play that many guys, half court offense, rebounding are a weakness so far...then maybe try up tempo style & press. It just might work better than dribbling the ball for 45 seconds and then Mcneil or Hargett going one on 2 or 3 & forcing up shots hoping to get fouled. Too much talent to score in 30's ever. I hardly ever post as you can see, and my opinion no better than the next guys, but too much talent in program this and next few years to play this style of ball.
  8. Would like to see Walton try hargett..McNeil..Moeves ..Kinmon ...helton ......take McNeil off point let him play 2..work off screens like chambers....let Moeves & Kinmon run point....tell hargett to get on block...play toughe &post ....if he played tougher could dominate the blocks with his athleticism
  9. No Offensive flow, way too much dribbling, no ball movement, alot of forced shots. Playing 12 players running players in and out of game 2 minutes at a time, taking some players out at each mistake, not allowing them to play thru them and gain confidence while allowing others to continually pound the ball in the floor and force shots. Definately no chemistry, playing so many players with many times 3 or more players on floor who can only score on offensive boards. Have to somehow learn to move the ball, pass the ball faster up the floor instead of dribbling. Kind of a catch 22, the players who can score are soft and players who play tough have no shot making ability. Too much talent to play this way, hopefully extra time on court over break will help this team.
  10. Also I think the fans of the WV program owe a huge amount of appreciation to Dan Sullivan! Not only has he helped coach Miller by serving as his top assistant coach, but a few years ago he developed a grade school program at Walton, not only allowing these kids to play other schools, but also receive alot of good coaching & developing fundamentals of the game. Dan has devoted a tremendous amount of his time & effort having open gyms, working with summer coaches, & coacing summer ball himself! He has never been a guy that wants any credit, but I for one think alot the success both the girls & boys programs @ WV have enjoyed & the tremendous young talent we have in the program now is in part a direct result of the developement program started by Coach Sullivan!
  11. Big Congratulations to a tremendous group of young ladies on & off the court! The base of this group has worked together towards this goal since grade school & as mentioned in an earlier post have had alot of great coaching along the way. Best of luck at Diddle girls! As far as coach Miller, I will admit I was one that was critical of him his first couple of years. He was handed a tremendous amount of young talent when he arrived at WV. These girls were use to playing a fast pace-pressing style while they growing up. He came in with his slow down style, and tried to run an open dribble drive offense(tried to coach every pass) with 3 post players on the floor. Because he was playing players out of postion & wrong style for his talent wv averaged about 20 TO's a game while playing a slow down pace. (Was very hard to watch) But I will be the first to admit he adapted to his the talent he was given, still runs open offense some but also now runs many other sets that takes advantage of his girls talents. I still think with a talented 10 player rotation he could run & press atleast at different spurts of games but just not his style. This team biggest weakness has always been point guard & although it is still a work in progress the coaching staff midway through the season decided to go with the the young girls Clinkenbeard & Mullikin @ point & I think the year end success is a direct result of that decision. I think the sign of a good coach is being able to adjust your style to talent of your players each year and I think Coach Miller has done a better job with that each year @ WV. Another sign of a good coached is how he coaches in close games down the stretch & I think would be hard to argue with Coach Miller's success in that area, his teams have won many close games down the stretch on their way to back to back all A region titles & now the 8th region title. Congrats to WV lady bearcats & Coaching Staff for accomplishing many great goals last couple of years!
